Reality TV: Buzz Worthy - Here's What The Fans Are Saying
|
Reality TV fans always have something to say about their favorite shows. Here's a sampling of what we have received in the last couple of days.
To tell us what's on your mind fill out the form below.
Treasure Hunters
It is similar to Amazing Race, but with some intellectual stuff thrown in. I like the concept. Unfortunately, with 10 teams of 3, there are a lot of faces and it is hard to get to know anybody, which is what makes the race fun, when you get to really know teams and either like them or hate them. It will probably improve once they eliminate a few teams. I also felt the beginning was very hard to follow with two groups of 5 in different places and doing different activities. Made the whole thing seem "choppy", although this did improve once the teams joined up. Anyway, I will continue to watch it as it seems as if it has potential.

Treasure Hunters
This show will fill the wanderlust reality tv bill during the summer lull but will never replace TAR. Seems like more emphasis on clues rather than competitors and locales, unlike The Amazing Race. I think it will be somewhere between a hit and a flop. That robotic host needs to loosen up. Some of the teams are pretty comical, and the photography is quite good. Sure, TH is patterned a bit after TAR but I wouldn't call it a complete rip-off. After all, imitation is flattery, and there are a bunch of reality tv shows that take bits and pieces of others.

Treasure Hunters
Worst show I have ever seen, I bet it doesn't last 2 weeks.
TJ - California
Canadian Idol
Under no circumstances should judges be rude or disrespectful to the hopeful young Canadians who are auditioning. This grandstanding is an affront to participants and viewers and I would encourage judges to model good behaviour as they deliver their evaluations and opinions. I would not want their job, but hold them in much higher regard when they offer their critique constructively rather than with contempt.

So You Think You Can Dance
"Think" is the "buzz word" in the title. Playing an era tune and calling a stage dance "Foxtrot" is disappointing. Interviewing a "wanna-be" who claims to have "invented" a dance is not substantial, especially when the invented "dance" is so disjointed and has no fluid movement or transitions. Although the show may well be well-intentioned, the product shows very little talent or taste. The audience does show an unlimited gulability and acceptance of "herd instinct". America's standards continue to plummet. I do hope that you make money on your project in spite of it's lack of "reality".

So You Think You Can Dance
This is my first season watching and I absolutely love it. Half of it is watching the dancing and the other is watching Ivan. I think he is absolutely amazing and so sexy. Thanks so much for putting him on because he is my entertainment. Thank you for getting me hooked.
Ashley - Florida
American Idol and Taylor Hicks
Somthing has been overlooked by American Idol. After winning Idol and all of Taylor's accomplisments, you would think American Idol's homepage would be full of congratulations to Taylor. Instead, you have to look pretty hard to see that Taylor was even a part of idol.
Shame on them. They have a true winner and don't even know it---or don't want to acknowledge it.

Canada's Next Top Model
I can not tell you how dissapointed I am in this show. I can not believe that you would have these young women bare their breasts in this competion! I think it highly unnecessary and degrading. I have spoken to several people today young and old who have been watching this show and we all feel the same way. Do you not realize that in this day and age with sexual preditors and perverts so prevelant in our society that what you are doing is only encouraging deviant behaviours. Many younger kids are watching this show.... this is not setting a good example!
Ruth Ann - Ontario
America's Got Talent
I really enjoyed your show, but think it was terrible that Eddie Haskell did not get the opportunity to have more than 10 seconds with his saw. He was not allowed to show if he had any talent, I can remember shows from years ago where the saw players were quiet good. He really deserves a second chance. Maybe all contestants should have at least 25 seconds?

America's Got Talent
Simon's clone is not only cruel, he is stupid. His "parrot comment" was laughable. Ironically, my parrot "Buddy" and I were watching the show when Piers said that he could train a parrot to speak in one day. I swear my parrot said "What!", "Kiss My Foot", turned his back and didn't watch the show any longer. Smart parrot. I laughed my head off. I think Buddy would like to teach Piers to fly in one easy lesson. Take him to a 180 foot cliff, push him off and tell him to flap his arms as fast as he can.
Darlene - Texas
The Hills
I love The Hills! I always enjoyed watching Laguna Beach, and The Hills is even better. I love how Lauren is so nice, sweet, loyal, and down-to-earth. All the girls are so pretty and the men are gorgeous! My favs are Lauren and then Audrina, Whitney seems to quiet and isn't really a big part yet, and Heidi is too cocky and care-free. I love the show and look forward to it every wed. night.
