Ron Lemon Evil Editing And Disappointing Ratings
Commentary By RTVC Editor Ron Lemon
January 12, 2006
The ratings are in for Monday night's Bachelor Paris premiere. They're not good. This show is on it's last legs. It's too early to pass judgement on this 8th season but I will anyway. Having seen the first episode and previews of the future it looks to me like they will continue to concentrate on conflict, cat-fights and crazy ladies. Too bad. You want numbers - give us a grand romance - not "rotting eggs". It does not matter how often they say "the most romantic Bachelor ever!" We've heard it before. It's time for actions not words. I hope they save it. I don't think they will.

We knew it would happen. Dr. Allie ("My eggs are rotting") Garcia-Serra says it was the editing.
South Florida Sun-Sentinel staff writer Missy Stoddard reports that "Garcia-Serra explained Tuesday that she meant to say that she had spent the past decade building a career and wanted to spend the next one building a life and family with someone special." The rose-less Allie said "The final product is edited and spliced and diced and made to make you think one way". "When I saw it, I saw myself as a pathetic, desperate girl wanting to reproduce right now and that's so not me. If that's what [ABC] wants to portray me as, fine. I'm having fun with it."

It was the editing that said "My eggs are rotting", and she was ready to enter the ""reproductive phase" of her life. It was those tricky editors that crafted her expletive filled attack on Bachelor Dr. Travis Stork. Amazing what the evil editors can do these days.

She also blamed the producers, saying that during the 12 hour production day, the women were given lots of alcohol but not enough food. An allegation that the show's Executive Producer Lisa Levenson denies. I have to wonder which producer poured alcohol down the throat of the highly educated doctor.

The Sentinel reports "Garcia-Serra realized there was some "irrational behavior" on her part toward the end of the evening, though she wasn't sure just how much. She found out on Monday night."

"Irrational behavior" must be one of the buttons on the evil editors control board.

If you don't say it, if you don't do it, they can't show it.
