Here is ABC's recap.
"The Bachelor: London Calling"
Season 12, Episode 6
Shayne
Amanda R
Chelsea.
The first of Matt's hometown dates is with Shayne's parents. First he's meeting her father, actor Lorenzo Lamas, and her mother later, since they're divorced. Shayne tells Matt this is a really big deal since her father's only met one of her previous boyfriends - and he didn't approve! Matt is butchering her last name, so she coaches him on how to pronounce it: Lom-iss.
Lorenzo arrives and tells Matt that his daughter, and her feelings, are very important to him. He admits that he was surprised to hear that she wanted to be on The Bachelor and that the idea of being on television was "very enticing" to her as she "really wants to be a star." Shayne is very hurt by his comment and insists that she's there only for Matt. Her father says he believes her and that he "just wanted to see where her heart was."
He asks Matt to step into the other room for a private chat. Lorenzo warns him not to toy with Shayne's feelings, particularly as he, her father, wasn't there enough for her as a child. Matt says he respects that and that he's serious about finding a lasting relationship through the show. Lorenzo says he's impressed with Matt's level of maturity. Her father tells Shayne that he believes Matt genuinely likes her and advises her to follow her heart.
Shayne informs Matt it's "all fun from here" now that they're going to meet her mother, Michelle, and her little sister, Dakota. Matt doesn't quite know what to make of the house -- which is dripping with leopard print -- or her dogs, one of whom is wearing a pink tutu! Fortunately, Matt really takes to the dog, who, it seems, rarely cozies up to anyone but the family.
Michelle serves up roast beef and Yorkshire pudding just for Matt, who is delighted. She wants to know how Matt feels about the whole process and he says that meeting the family is a big step. Dakota wants to know what Matt's parents are like and he says they are "very English." Michelle steals Matt away for a talk and Shayne is sure that her mother is going to steal the show as well. She shows him home movies of Shayne performing an acrobatic dance and tells him he'll never meet anyone else like Shayne. She warns him that dating an actress isn't easy and he says that as long as both people look out for each other, it should be okay. She gives him a hug and says she approves.
Her sister asks Shayne if she's in love with Matt and she says he's a man she could easily fall for. Matt hates to leave her family, saying he had a "brilliant" time. Privately, he says he got Shayne completely wrong at first and that he's really falling for her now.
Next up is Chelsea in Durango, Colorado. Matt feels she's been a little hot and cold with him and hopes she'll open up now that she's in her home town. He meets her on a snowy bench outside and she apologizes in advance for how emotional she always gets during visits home to see her family. He says that surprises him, but that he did see that she was very emotional during the last rose ceremony. She admits she thought he was sending her home since he had stressed the "best friend" quality of their relationship. He feels they could be best friends, but is looking for something more. She's on the verge of telling him how much he means to her, but finds she can't quite do it.
She brings him to meet her parents and tells them how much she loves Matt's sarcasm. Matt assures her father he really is looking to settle down and explains how his father's stroke helped that along. He says he's always been into Chelsea but isn't as sure if she's into him. Her father makes a toast to "finding happiness."
Alone with her father, Chelsea says she didn't expect to fall for Matt but that she really likes him a lot and wants to get to know him better. Her father, who knows how guarded she can be, advises her "nothing venture, nothing gained," and urges her to let Matt know how she feels.
Meanwhile, Matt tells her mother that he finds Chelsea smart and beautiful and that he was "falling in love with her from the first time he met her." His mother assures Matt that she sees a connection and points out that since he's dating more than one woman, it's hard for any of them to open up to him.
Chelsea tells Matt how much she enjoys being with him and that she'll really miss him and gives him a long, passionate farewell kiss. "Make sure you miss me the entire time you're gone," she says. He's glad that she's finally dropped her guard around him. He comes away from the meeting convinced that he and Chelsea could "genuinely make it" as a couple.
Next, Matt travels to Loveland, Colorado for Noelle, whom he admits he knows least well of all the women. He arrives at her farm on the back of a truck, and they go horseback riding. She says he's only the second guy she's ever brought home to meet her parents and says it's a "huge" deal. She tells him he has all the qualities she doesn't, so they complement each other perfectly.
They ride to meet her mother and father and two sisters. He's nervous because she's told him that her father, Larry, is very strict. Larry invites Matt to join him in a game of horseshoes, while her sisters and mother exclaim about how cute -- and tall -- Matt is. Larry asks Matt "what kind of person" goes on a dating show but admits he's skeptical about anyone Noelle would bring home.
Over dinner, Noelle's mother asks if Matt intends to remain in England and he says he's flexible about where he lives. As the youngest of five boys, he's says he really ready to settle down. "I married my best friend and you can't do any better than that," says Larry.
Noelle's two sisters take Matt aside to make sure he genuinely likes Noelle. He admits he's close to falling in love, but, adds, "I'm not going to lie to you," and says that that feeling extends to more than one person.
Noelle's parents tell her that they think Matt has potential but now she has to determine if he's the right person for her. She isn't sure whether to risk her heart and her mother advises her that if she thinks Matt is worth it, than yes, she should. She admits she doesn't let guys in and her father says that it's important for Matt to see the real her.
Matt gives her a lengthy goodbye kiss and privately admits that there's a part of him that's definitely falling for Noelle. He says he's going to miss her, so she jokes that he should just stay. To the camera, she hopes it's not too late for her to win Matt over.
Matt journeys next to Tallahassee, Florida to meet Amanda's family. He says that family is very important to him, so it's very unlikely he'll end up with a woman if he doesn't get along with her relatives.
But Amanda has a big surprise in store for Matt -- she's hired actors to play her mom and dad! And instructed them to be completely over the top! Matt is taken aback at the mother's exaggerated reactions to everything he says, especially her hearty laugh at odd moments. She urges him to flex his muscles and he refuses. Then her dad asks if he and Amanda have been physically intimate! Amanda says it was so awkward that if she had been in Matt's place, she would have just walked out.
Matt is appalled that Amanda's mother seems drunk, so he asks her father to step outside with him for a man-to-man chat. Their chat goes on for some time, so Amanda sends Fake Mom out to interrupt. Fake Dad leaves in a huff, leaving the two of them alone. Fake Mom asks if Matt's a good boy and then proceeds to rub Matt's arm and chest in a provocative manner. He tries to fend her off as she tells him how great he smells and tries to kiss him! Fake Dad comes out and demands to know what's going on. Amanda realizes it's time to end the charade. Matt is speechless at first, then congratulates them on a job well done, admitting that he was totally fooled. Instead of being angry, he says he's impressed by Amanda's prank.
She then brings out her real mom and dad, who are impressed that Matt took the prank so well. Since her stunt took up all the time they might have spent alone, Amanda has arranged to visit Matt in his suite later that evening. He tells her that her prank is the best one he's ever had pulled on him and that he finds her "extraordinary" and kisses her.
It's time for the next rose ceremony. Matt admits he didn't sleep much last night and says how wonderful he found all their families.
Matt gives roses to:
Shayne
Amanda
Chelsea.
Chelsea is visibly relieved to be given the final rose, while Noelle fights back tears at being left without one. The women hug her goodbye but look jealous as Matt leads her outside to explain his decision. He says he thinks she's incredible but that their connection just got started too late. "I take the blame for that," she says with a wistful smile. He says he's "so pleased" to have met her and that he thinks this "scenario" is just not suited to her. He hugs her goodbye before she goes into the limo and they wish each other the best.
In the limo, she's philosophical about being sent home, saying that it's not the first time that having her guard up has left her in the same situation.
