American Idol: Porn Idolgate - Antonella To Pose For Playboy

Could it be? "Absolutely" says Playboy publisher Hugh Hefner. Laura Saltman of Access Hollywood posed the question to Hef at a recent Playboy Mansion party. She showed him the photos that have made Antonella an Internet Porn Princess and Hef told her it's a "Very real possibility. "Yes, absolutely."
Could this have been her plan all along? I really don't think so. I do believe Antonella is fairly innocent in all this, but I also believe she is enjoying the results of it. She is, by far, the worst of the female singers remaining, perhaps the worst of the Top 16. But she is still there and will be for a while. I have no doubt she will make the Top 12 and would not be surprised to see her go a lot further.
It's unfortunate that she will remain because of the sexual photos of her that the world now has access to, rather than talent. Which she lacks.
And it makes me think about what is to come in the future? If somebody else in this competition needs a boost will their photos suddenly appear on the web? And what about next season? Are wannabes already planning their "campaign" for next season?

And I can't help thinking about Frenchie Davis who got cut for photos that were, in my opinion, tamer than those we have seen of Antonella.
And I want to make it clear that I really don't think Antonella did anything wrong, with the exception of posing at the War Memorial. And that I think is very wrong. It's disrpectful to the people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom she is enjoying. I think she owes an apology, but that is all. I don't think she should trade any chance she has at future success because of an error in judgement.
But Antonella is not the only one that made a mistake. It was wrong of the person who posted the images and it is wrong for people to base their American Idol votes on the issue.

We've been running a survey here on Reality TV Calendar since this whole thing started. Our readers are pretty evenly split.
When asked the question,
"Should Antonella Barba be removed from American Idol?" we got the following:
No - Her private life should be private: 36%
Yes - Her private life is not worthy of being an American Idol: 33%
I really don't care: 33%
It disturbs me that one out of three people think a person's chance at success should be eliminated because they posed naked for private and personal photos.
As for posing for Playboy? We'll have to wait until she is finally voted off the show before we find out. But I would be surprised if she did.
But maybe I am a bit naive about it all.
