American Idol: Porn Idolgate - Antonella Affair With Simon?

Just when I thought this story could not get any stranger I received a press release from WagerWeb, an online betting site. I get these things all the time from several gambling sites. Usually they are touting the odds of this contestant or that contestant winning it all. Not this time.
The show is no longer about who is the best singer. It's quickly becoming all about Antonella and the various stories that are spinning off. So WagerWeb is now taking bets on what the next "shocking" Antonella Barba story will be.

As if America's most popular show, "American Idol," needed any more publicity, its sixth season just got a bit more spicy.
Twenty-year-old Antonella Barba has allegedly been shown in various racy photos that are circulating on the Web, and she is one of 16 finalists to make the cut on the hit reality show. Barba has yet to speak about the photos, or dispute that the images are her.
Fox-TV has declined to comment on the latest scandal. But judge Simon Cowell and fellow producer Nigel Lythgoe have said that Barba's fate is up to fans who vote on the contestants.

Barba, a former college student from New Jersey, has been widely panned for her singing ability, causing many to wonder if the pictures -- ranging from party shots of a woman drinking, to nude, sexually explicit images -- and Web buzz have kept her on the show.
This isn't the first time this time "American Idol" has dealt with this issue.
In 2003, the show dumped contestant Franchelle "Frenchie" Davis after it was revealed that she posed topless for an Internet porn site.
Barba will make her next appearance when the eight remaining female contestants perform again on Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST.
