American Idol has given us another interesting season filled with scandals, triumphs, disasters, and shocking eliminations.
Who would have predicted that Melinda Doolittle would not even make the finals? Who would have predicted that Sanjaya would hang around so long or that Antonella's nude photos would have kept her in longer than her talent deserved?
Paula cleaned up her act, for the most part, and Randy came close to eliminating "Dawg" from his comments but couldn't control "Check it out". Simon was Simon.
And speaking of Simon, he's not happy with the final two at all. He has said repeatedly that Melinda should have been in the final two. He feels Blake can't sing and although Jordin can sing she can't entertain.
The only thing certain about the finale is that when it is over, we'll be wishing we didn't have to wait so long for the next season of American Idol.

We are left with Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks.
Blake can't sing. But he can entertain. But I am so tired of the beatboxing. I thought we got over that in the 90's and for good reason. While an interesting talent the first time you see it, after that who cares? If his parents had given him the set of drums he wanted we would not have had to put up with it. If Blake does win this I predict he will be the least successful of all the Idols. Even less successful than Rubin Stoddard. That's pretty bad. Blake will be supported by the same voting block that carried him into the final two last week. And of course they will vote even stronger now that he is in the finals.
Jordin can sing, but she is not much of an entertainer. I can see her putting out an amazing album and having a really boring concert show. It's not enough to just stand there and belt it out. Even if you can belt it out. But unlike Blake, if Jordin does win the American Idol title I think she will have a very successful career. She is only 17. She will mature as an entertainer and her singing will only improve with experience.
I'm going with Jordin as the winner. Melinda's voting blocks will move to Jordin and it will be a massive win. I doubt that Ryan will reveal the vote percentage, but I think it will be somewhere close to two to one in favor of Jordin. Jordin Sparks will be the next American Idol.
