They're Pretty But Can They Act?

Acting out was the letter of the day on this week's America's Next Top Model.
The girls receive acting lessons from acting coach and friend-of-Tyra Tasha Smith.
When a lesson involves letting out your feelings and emotions Caridee stuns everyone when she admits to attempting suicide before in her life. On a brighter note, Caridee wins the challenge which involves acting for a silent film.
The girls are taken away to Spain and learn they will be filming a commercial with male models and speaking Spanish.
Melrose and Eugena rise to the occasion, but the rest fall apart and though Caridee gave one of the worst commercials ever, Jaeda is finally put out of her misery.
Five girls remain...who will be eliminated next week?
Melrose

After this week, I don't think Melrose will be falling out of the number one spot except in the chance that she doesn't win the whole thing. She once again delivers amazingly and makes Top Model history with Tyra and the judges saying her commercial was one of the best in all of the competition's previous seasons. The judges applauded her efforts when she said she stayed up late to practice, but the girls saw it differently. They felt Melrose was making them look bad and being fake, but it sounded more like outright jealousy. One thing that impresses me about Melrose is that unlike many girls in season's past (including this season's Anchal), she has NOT let the other girls get to her, always being a success in whatever she does. Melrose pretty much has it locked up unless something disastrous happens.
Amanda

Amanda is on a roll right now. The judges are really starting to take notice of her and it's all positive attention. She has such grace and beauty and truly wants to be a model. I suspect that she may be a favorite of the judges. Just look at judging panel. She did terribly in the commercial, delivering a performance just as stiff as Michelle's, but the judges were careful not to beat her down and even complimented her. That's great for Amanda and I love the girl, so I'm not complaining.
Eugena
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 6
I've pushed Eugena up past Michelle and Caridee for a couple of reasons this week. One, of course, is that Eugena did really well whereas Michelle and Caridee failed badly. Also, presence is a big deal in this competition and is what helped such less-than-stellar competitors as Ann (Cycle 3), Keenyah (Cycle 4), and Bre (Cycle 5) in the past and Eugena has that. She has an elegance and strength about her that the other girls don't and that will be what inches her into the finals if she can keep it up.
Michelle
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 4
Michelle remains in fourth for the week. I didn't like that she flat out admitted that she didn't want this as much, then decided to go on a tirade at the acting lessons about people questioning her desire. She looks so stunning and could easily be a great model as we've seen, but she was cold and stiff in the commercial and could not perform. She's really in need of some new energy if she wants to push through to the final and there are only 2 episodes left before the final three square off.
Caridee

Caridee plummets in the rankings this week. She crumbled in more ways than one in this episode. She made a breakthrough when she revealed her past suicide attempts and later won the challenge, but she did absolutely horribly in the commercial. There was NOTHING redeeming about it and Nigel referred to it as the worst in ANTM history. Caridee completely pulls a "Brittany", flopping miserably in a late challenge after doing so amazingly until then and that just throws me off in wondering if she'll make it where Brittany couldn't. Next week looks worse, if that's possible, when she seems to tick off Nigel Barker at the photo shoot and word gets back to Tyra. Yikes.
Jaeda

Monique was cut for choosing not to participate in the photo shoot and for not showing a lot of desire to be there.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Megan

Christian
