Armed and Famous: Real Cops Aren't Afraid Of Cats

Episode 2 Recap by Logan Huffman
January 18, 2007

Previously on 'Armed and Famous', five celebrities arrived in Muncie, Indiana to become actual police officers. After they all passed their training, they took the oath, and hit the streets with their partners, all encountering situations in which they showed off their new abilities. Now, they'll do whatever it takes to keep these streets safe.

Officers Erik Estrada and Jamie Brown begin tonight's episode by going to investigate a domestic disturbance. In the apartment they are headed to, the man has threatened to kill the woman. Erik tells us that he doesn't like abuse in any form, and he's glad to be in uniform so he can do something about it. Officer Brown tells Erik that she would feel better about him handling the man if he's home, and she can handle the female. Erik thinks that is an excellent idea.

From down in the yard, the officers see a woman standing at the window. Once they find out she is Diana, the woman who made the police call, she tells them that the man, whose name is Donald, is still up there, and to come on up. Once inside, Erik and Officer Brown handcuff Donald, telling him that a complaint was filed against him. Erik tells us that Donald was intoxicated, so he finally just cuffed him. Donald keeps yelling back up at Diana, but the officers drag him on towards the cruiser. Once Donald realizes that it is Erik Estrada, he can't believe it and tells him that he looks good. He also tells Erik that he's a nice officer.

Erik begins to ask Donald for more details, asking what happened and if he touched Diana. Donald says that he never touched her. He turns around and calls Diana stupid. Erik asks Donald to please comply. Diana tells Erik that Donald has done this many times before, and although he never put his hands on her this time, he did threaten to kill her and her son, and that's why she called the cops tonight, because she doesn't want to die, she wants to live. Erik says that when he threatened her, she felt threatened, and she's been through this before, and she has to protect herself. Erik tells Donald that he got Diana so upset, that she is filing against him, and he now has to take him to the County Jail.

LaToya Jackson
Leading him to the police car, Erik tells Donald that he is under arrest for threatening someone with bodily harm. Erik tells Donald that he is making threats, and he asks to whom. Erik tells him that he is threatening Diana, his girlfriend, and Erik tells him that they are done and to get in the car, because he isn't talking to him anymore. Erik tells us that Donald isn't cool and isn't listening, and he threatened her, and she finally gets it, deciding to file charges.

Erik checks on Diana, asking her if she is OK. She says that she is. Erik tells Diana that you live your life as an example of what not, or what kinds of people, not to get involved with, and not to let any man hit you. Erik tells us that he told Diana that she doesn't have to live this kind of life of abuse. He tells her to love herself, and not to let anyone mistreat her. Officer Brown tells us that she thinks Erik is doing a better job on the police side of work, rather than being an actor that's told what to do. Diana continues to fill out her complaint, which Erik tells her will be his pleasure to take in.

It's 6 PM once again, and our five celebrity cops are about to hit the streets once again for only the second time ever. Jason says that they are still going through a learning process, and they aren't real, real cops quite yet. Trish says that now the real challenge begins, as they are going out and doing calls, having no idea what to expect, as every call is different. Erik tells us that he is very proud of what he has done, and he is no longer going to be an actor playing a cop, he's going to be an actor who is a cop. LaToya tells us that she started as LaToya Jackson, but has become a totally different person, as everything she has done so far is totally out of her character. Jack tells us that this is something they can't get anywhere else, and the chance to be cops is pretty sweet.

At 6:09 PM, Officer Trish Stratus and Kyle Temple are sent to investigate a burglary in progress. They are looking for a white male with a moustache and goatee, wearing a black jacket and yellow t-shirt. The victims are saying that the man has now broken through the screen door. Trish tells us that after they received a call about the burglary in progress and pulled up to the house, she and Officer Temple took off on foot. As soon as Trish runs up, Officer Temple has already tackled and is on top of the man, trying to control him. Trish is able to grab his hands and handcuff them, and they sit the man up.

Trish points to the destroyed door, and asks the man if he sees what he did. He says that he didn't do anything to that door. Trish says "Really?", clearly not believing the man. She asks if he was knocking on the door, and he says that he was, but that he didn't do anything to it. She asks him why he was knocking on the door. He starts cursing and telling them to shut up. Trish tells him to watch his mouth, and tells us that the man began to yell profanity, some really rude stuff, and it burned a fire in her and made her mad. She tells him that he better shut his mouth.

As they are about to pull him up to take him in, the man tries to spit on Trish. Another officer moves in, and tells the man, "You're not going to spit on anybody, stupid!" The man starts laughing, and Trish asks him if he thinks it's funny, telling him to shut his mouth right now. Trish tells us that she is becoming more assertive, saying that she knows her role out there, and she has this air of confidence about her. As the man fights his way all the way to the car, Officer Temple tells him to knock it off, as he is done. He spits on the window towards the camera. Trish bangs on the window, and he starts yelling things at her, but she says that she can't hear them, and he can think about it when he's in jail tonight. Trish says that the man needs to rest his mouth.

At 7:45 PM, Officers Jason Acuna and Scott O'Dell are dispatched on a shoplifting charge at the mall. Jason tells us that they received a call that shoplifting was going on at the mall. They got a description, knowing that one woman is wearing a cap. They walk into a store to try and find the woman.

Jason spots a woman in a blue cap looking at clothing. Jason calls out to her, but she ignores him. He tells her to come here, and she asks for what. He says that they need to talk to her, and she says no and begins to walk away. He tells her that he is a police officer, and she has to stop and talk to him. She says that she doesn't, because she has rights, and she hasn't done anything, and he needs not to talk to her or touch her. He tells her to stop, because she is under suspicion. She asks what she is under suspicion of. She tells him that he's wrong, and he tells her to stop again, but she refuses. She says no once again, stopping to look at something (what a fool!) and tells someone to call the real police He tells her that he is the real police.

Jason tells us that the woman was threatening to call the real cops, and he told her that he is a cop, and she needs to stop. Jason tells her that she is under suspicion of robbery, and he once again tells her that he's wrong. Jason's partner comes up, and tells the woman that they are in public, and if she keeps going on like this, she will be arrested for disorderly conduct. She is trying to use her phone, and Officer O'Dell says that she is under arrest, and to put the phone down. He tells Jason to cuff her, and he does, causing her to ask what she is under arrest for. Officer O'Dell tells her that it's disorderly conduct, for now. She argues the point, saying that she hasn't done anything. The woman begins to scream, and Jason tells her to put her hands behind her back, but she fights him. Jason says that since she took off and caused disorderly conduct in public, he cuffed her and walked her out.

Outside, she asks Jason if he is a real Officer. He says that he is, and this is for real. She doesn't seem to believe him, and he tells her that he went through the Academy. Officer O'Dell tells her that she should have stopped in there and let them talk to her and try to figure things out, then she wouldn't be in handcuffs. But she decided to make a scene and run from an Officer, so this is where she ended up. Officer O'Dell tells her that she knows when a Police Officer asks her to stop, she should stop.

The officers get into the car and head to the station, and Officer O'Dell explains that Jason tried to explain to her about the theft and she didn't want to pay attention, so this was the correct thing to do. He tells Jason that things went perfectly, and the bump fists, with Officer O'Dell saying, "Excellent!" Both officers say, "Damn, we're good!"

At 7:50 PM, Officers LaToya Jackson and Amy Kesler.....
