The Bachelor In Paris
Getting to Know You…. And You… and You
Commentary by Donna Emery

With Dr. Travis Stork as the Bachelor, it's easy to understand how a gal could want a rose.
I've been looking forward to this program, because it brings out the romantic in me. The very idea of a trip to Paris is romantic in and of itself, and a handsome, single doctor wooing 25 lovely young women makes the premise of the show irresistible. So, when I watched the show my fondest hope was that I wouldn't be disappointed in its promise to charm my inner romantic.
The show's beginning heralded all of the Bachelors of past incarnations of this show, and told us that Travis Stork was the "best bachelor ever." Though I was glad to know that he was so special, I couldn't help wondering how this boded with Charlie, Andrew, Bob, Jesse, Byron, etc. They were also touted as pretty special, at the time, and it's hard to believe the hype when it's the same as the last hype we heard.
But in this case, it seems like the hype could be true. Dr. Travis Stork is the Real Deal: a handsome, single doctor from Nashville Tennessee. He works in the emergency room, and seems very caring and competent. One of his patients told the story of how he saved her life. One of his colleagues certified that he is a very desirable hottie. And he told us how he'd been concentrating, for the last 8 years on "medicine, medicine, medicine", but that now he was ready to find someone to share his life with.
And the place he will search is Paris. He will live in a beautiful French chateau, and have his choice of 25 beautiful women. When Travis arrived - by limo, of course - in Paris, the ever-smarmy Chris Harrison was there to greet him. He showed him the chateau, and stood by while he greeted the women who were vying for his affections.
The women paraded out of their own limos, one by one to meet him and charm him with first impressions. I won't bore you with descriptions of all of them, but here are some of the ones who stood out, for me:
Susan - The first one he met. Could she have thrust her boobs forward any more? She
Certainly made a real great first impression.
April - Poor kid. She looked like she never wore high heels before. She tripped, but
Travis was gracious about it.
Jehan - He said she was the first Jehan he had ever met. Well, that makes two of us.
Kristen - What a giggler! And a hugger, too. She is "practicing her French". OH…. She
meant the language…
Tara - I loved her dress. She knows how a redhead should dress. She made his eyes
sparkle.
Moana - I like her style. She promised to give Travis "one hell of a ride". I'll just bet.
Cole - Made his eyes sparkle, too.
Princess - Said her mom chose her name. It didn't seem to fit her.
Jaime - Huge eyes. Very thick accent.
Yvonne - Seems very assertive and self-assured.
Allie G - Speaks French, but too fast/much for Travis.
All in all, Travis met 25 ladies and had to listen.....
