The Bachelor In Paris: Episode 1
The Clock Is Ticking

Recap by Teri Sue
January 10, 2006
The 'biological clock' that is. You'll understand at the end of this recap if you didn't watch the show.

First things first though.

Travis Stork, 33, a doctor, from Tennessee. Does it get any better than that? Throw in that he's very easy on the eyes and in this episode, at least, comes off as courteous, respectful, and charming with a flair of the boy next door. The ingredients are there for the real possibility of a man seeking his woman rather than simply his 15 minutes of fame.

25 women, flown to Paris, with the hopes and dreams that they will be the last woman standing. That they will be the recipient of the final rose.

I won't be going into any great detail on the women in this recap since the field will be whittled down in half by the night's end. In the upcoming recaps, we'll get to know the women more up close and personal. I hate to put it like this but it's almost like a livestock auction in these first episodes of The Bachelor/Bachelorette. The bachelor gets to spend, what? 10 to 15 minutes with each woman before she is sent packing. This time, all the way from Paris back to the states.

First off, we are treated to the usual Chris (host) with the Bachelor standing in front of the 'residence'. This time it just happens to be a huge chateau in Paris, France. Travis gets the pep talk from Chris. Chris throws in some scripted French talk. Then, the limos arrive. Allow me to interject here so I don't interrupt the flow of the arrivals. There is general brief chit chat with each woman as she meets our bachelor. Some are quiet, some are funny, and some are outgoing. One loses her shoe but doesn't panic. Meaning she handles the situation very well. Some try to speak French. Most are smart enough to not attempt it (unless fluent in the language). Cute Southern accents come forth. And, the list goes on and on. To me, personally, one of the main reasons I enjoyed this specific premiere episode is that it was not drawn out. An hour was sufficient and just right.

You can find in more detail on Travis and the girls on our Bachelor page right here at RTVC with pics, bios, etc. so be sure to check it out. And be sure to keep up with the Scoreboard and Spoilers done by RTVC staff writer Donna Emery
