Jillian Kuras But Can They Sing? Episode 2
This Is All About The Look

By Jillian Kuras
November 8, 2005
Welcome to week two of But Can They Sing? After last week's painful show, three contestants will be going home tonight. Since none of them can actually sing, it doesn't really matter which three it is. However, I thought the absolute worst of the bunch were Kim, Bai, and Myrka.

After host Ahmet Zappa takes the stage, he begins the breakdown of tonight's show. He tells the contestant that if he calls upon them tonight, it means they were safe in the voting and can sing again this week. If their names are not called, it means they were eliminated and they won't get to sing the song they've been rehearsing all week.

The judges, Rachel, Jackie and Tony are introduced again, as is the band. Ahmet also tells us that Last Comic Standing alum, Ant will be tonight's guest commentator. He next tells us that the first singer to make it through tonight is… Michael Copon.
This week Michael will be singing American Woman. In his intro clip he is shown saying that he sounds horrible singing the song and that he can't do it. At least he acknowledges the fact that he stinks.

Michael takes the stage wearing black jeans and a ridiculous black leather shirt. He sounds okay, actually much better than last week. He tries his best to rock it out but he may have messed up some of the words. He still doesn't sound good but he did sound better than last week so I'll give him that.

Tony tells Michael he has a great voice but that he needs to focus more. Ant says that he has charisma and that he can get any woman or guy that he wants.

Next to sing is Morgan Fairchild who I thought was the best last week. This week she is singing I Will Survive which Morgan admits is a more vocally challenging song. She comes out wearing a red sparkly dress and immediately gets the crowd involved in her performance.

The song is a good attempt for Morgan and you can tell she loves to perform. Vocally it wasn't as good as last week, but as she said, it is a more difficult song. She still can't sing but I think she is one of the better contestants.

Jackie tells Morgan that her passion for the song came out and that she had stamina and poise. Ant says she started strong and that she has the moves.

Next to perform tonight will be Antonio Sabato Jr. This week he will be singing I Want You To Want Me. In his intro he tells us that he was nervous last week and that it affected his performance. Sure, that's the reason.

Antonio comes out shirtless.....
