But Can They Sing? Episode 5
Little Girls Will Give A Bad Boy The Win

Welcome to episode five of But Can They Sing? Last week, Antonio Sabato Jr. was eliminated from the competition leaving us with four- Carmine Gotti Agnello, Morgan Fairchild, Michael Copon and Bai Ling.
Even though Carmine is probably the worst singer and dancer of the group, he will most likely win this show. Why? Because he's just so good looking! Or so he thinks. I would never vote for Carmine. I think I have voted online two or three times since the start of the show and it was always for the same person- Morgan. She is without a doubt the best of the field. Michael is also beginning to grow on me and he's been doing much better the past few weeks.
On tonight's show, each contestant will sing a solo song and there will also be two duets- one with Carmine and Bai and one with Morgan and Michael. And of course, one more contestant will be going home. I would love if that person was Carmine but I have a feeling it may be Morgan. I just don't think she has connected with the young audience enough to convince them to vote for her.
The first duet we will see tonight is from Carmine and Bai. They will be singing Rock and Roll All Night by Kiss. In their intro clip Carmine is venting his frustrations because according to him, Bai never takes her singing seriously. Come on now, who can blame her?
As the two are um, 'singing', we see that Gene Simmons is in the audience tonight. Poor Gene! It must be tough to witness one of your songs being murdered right in front of your eyes.
Ant tells Carmine and Bai that he went to a Kiss concert once and that Gene spit blood all over his face. He says that was less painful than this performance tonight.
Morgan and Michael are up next and they are singing Walking on Sunshine. Even though the two aren't in tune, they're pretty darn close! Especially Michael; this was actually a good performance for him. However I was a little bothered when Michael grabbed Morgan's ass mid performance.
Ant says that Demi and Ashton need to watch out because we now have Morgan and Michael "sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" Funny, yet disturbing.
Before the break, Ahmet tells us that all four contestants will sing their new song tonight and then he will reveal who is eliminated. Seems fair considering all the work they put in throughout the last week.
Singing first tonight will be Bai Ling. Her song this week is Volare. Bai is a little concerned that she won't get to do a strip tease tonight considering this song is somewhat of a ballad.
Bai comes out wearing a long white dress with a fur coat over it and sure enough, she doesn't disappoint her fans and removes the coat just a few seconds in to reveal a skimpy little dress.
We already know that Bai can't sing and this was a much more subdued performance. That could spell elimination for Bai. We all know that the reason she has lasted this long is because America loves to see what crazy performance she is going to give the following week. She's like a train wreck really, you just can't look away.
Before the judges give their comments, Ant comes out wearing the outfit Bai was wearing last week. He pretends to propose to Bai to which she replies, "I thought he liked boys?" Bai seems a little confused by the whole situation and I hope someone fills her in that Ant was just joking and that he does really like boys.
Singing second tonight is Carmine and luckily, Ahmet clarifies that it is only young teenage girls who vote for him. Tonight he is performing Hey Ma by Cam'Ron. Once again this week, Carmine is sporting the handless mike. I'm sure he thinks he looks way cooler this way.
Carmine actually looks ridiculous tonight in a fluffy, fur vest. His also looks like he could take a person's eye out with that hairstyle of his. His performances are always more talking than singing so this one is typical for him.
Jackie tells him he has the motor running and she wants to see how far he can go with it. Tony tells him he has natural talent and that he commanded the audience.
Next to sing tonight is Morgan Fairchild. Tonight she will be singing Son of a Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield. In the rehearsal, Morgan struggles a little with the words and is hoping for better tonight.
Morgan looks great and I totally love her outfit. Vocally it's pretty good for her. I think we've heard better from her but it was still heads and tails above what Carmine and Bai just did.
Rachel tells Morgan she looks like a natural and that she did a wonderful job. Ant tells Morgan that she had a slight tumble last week but that "the bitch is back!"
Last up tonight is Michael who is singing Hot in Here by Nelly. I thought Michael had his best performance last week so I hope he can keep it up this week.
In his intro clip, Michael seems a little upset that he was given a rap song. He says he would much prefer an R&B or hip hop song and that this song would be like Justin Timberlake trying to rap.
I'm impressed right from the beginning just because this song is so quick and has so many words. The performance starts out pretty good. But then Michael decides to walk through the most crowded part of the audience and of course, removes his shirt (because it's so hot in here). He sort of loses the vocal track by the end but the audience was screaming so loud I don't think they noticed.
Rachel says it was amazing and she loved it. Ant says that Michael doesn't have to ask him twice and he will gladly take his clothes off.
As the show comes to a close, it's time for Ahmet to reveal who will be heading home tonight. Leaving us tonight is… Bai Ling. Well if it wasn't Carmine, Bai would have been my next choice.
Morgan and Michael are both doing well so I hope one of them will win next week's grand finale. However I am 99% sure that Carmine will win. See you all next week!
