Celebrity Fit Club: Class Vs. Trash - Screech Starts Trouble
Episode 1 Recap by Travis H.
April 23, 2007
It's an all new season of "Celebrity Fit Club" and this time around it's the Men vs. the Women. With the exception of just a couple of the celebrities, it seems like it should be called "Has-Been Fit Club" instead. As is the case with most celebrity reality shows, most participants haven't done anything substantial in years or even decades. I must admit, however, that I am still a fan of a few of this seasons cast.
This season the celebrities can be divided up into several categories:
The Classy - Kimberley Locke who came in third place on the second season of "American Idol". (She should have won!)
The Trashy - Dustin Diamond, a.k.a. Screech from "Saved by the Bell". He also released his own porn tape.
The Always Funny - Ross the Intern from "The Tonight Show".
The Rarely Funny - Cledus T. Judd, the Weird Al of country music.
60's and 70's Child Star - Maureen McCormick, a.k.a. Marsha Brady from "The Brady Bunch".
80's Bubblegum Pop Princess - Tiffany a.k.a. Debbie Gibson's nemesis.
90's Rap Artists - Da Brat and Warren G.
Back again this season is drill sergeant Harvey Walden IV, diet expert Dr. Ian Smith and Host Ant. This season there is also new psychotherapist Stacy Kaiser. After seeing this first episode, as well as some of the previews, I am sure that most everyone competing this season is going to need to see a shrink. Screech is going to drive everybody insane.
Screech does his thing.
As the episode begins, the celebrities are walking into a locker room where they realize that it's going to be the men vs. the women as the women all have red outfits and the guys have blue outfits. On the wall they see a poster of drill sergeant Harvey. Da Brat and Maureen draw clown features on his face with a marker and Ross writes "I Love Ross" on Harvey's arm. The celebrities all admit to being scared of Harvey.
Harvey comes in and isn't pleased with what they've done to the poster. Ross, already sucking up, says he doesn't think it's funny either even though he too wrote on the poster.
Right off the bat, Da Brat and Harvey get into a yelling match. Da Brat flips Harvey off and tells him to "fuck off" to which he responds by calling her a "bitch". Can't you just feel the love?
After a shaky start with Harvey, the celebrities emerge to face the first challenge of fit camp. The first fit camp is a day long fitness camp that will cover four grueling events.
First up is the obstacle course which Cletus and Tiffany stumbled through. Da Brat, still hyped from her clash with Harvey, finished the course in women's best 31 seconds. After the first event is over, we find that Warren G came in first overall, completing the course in just 29 seconds. Coming in last was Maureen who completed the course in 44 seconds.
The second event is the long jump. Screech took the early lead jumping 11'2" and thought he was going to win the event, but he didn't even come close. Once again Warren G came in first jumping 13'11" setting a new Fit Club record jumping 13'11". Coming in last once again was Maureen, who jumped just 6'9".
The third event is the quarter mile run. Da Brat fell behind in the beginning and once again ended up in Harvey's crosshairs. In what has already become De Brats signature fashion, she once again flips Harvey off. Yet again, Warren G came in first, completing the run in 1:39. Da Brat, even though she claims she doesn't care what Harvey thinks, worked extra hard to impress him and ended up in second place with 1:48. Coming in last is my girl Kimberley. Come on K-Lo, you can do better!!! Da Brat pushed herself so hard that she lost her lunch after the race. Maureen then takes a look and tells everyone what Da Brat had for lunch. Can you say gross?
Event four is the stair endurance run.....
