The Drama Mafia Strikes Another Blow
Real World Road Rules Challenge - The Duel

November 22, 2006 Rankings by Logan Huffman
This week on 'The Duel', the Drama Mafia still desired to eliminate Beth, while Wes warned Evan that he may be targeted next by CT and Brad.

The challenge involved a giant Russian Swing over the bay, in which the players must team up in guy/girl pairs. Each person would take turns propelling the other on the swing into the water lane, in which they must swim to the end to retrieve a ball, and then quickly swim back and put the ball into a ring. If the ball went outside of the water lane bounds, the team would be disqualified.

After Wes told him his ass may be on the line, Evan fought hard, winning himself immunity from the impending Duel. His partner, Kina, won herself a digital projector with her strong performance.

At the selection, Beth had the final decision in who went to the Duel, and she saved her "Tenderoni", Nehemiah, sending Eric to the Duel. But Eric wouldn't let Nehemiah get off so easily, and decided to challenge Nehemiah to the Duel, which was selected to be "I Can".

At the Duel, Eric and Nehemiah were both confident in their log-lifting abilities, but after Eric said he could lift 165 logs, the maximum number of logs in the Duel, Eric was forced to perform the lift for five seconds. Although he struggled, Eric successfully lifted the logs, eliminating Nehemiah from the competition, and placing another hit into the armor of Beth's alliance.

Will Beth and her alliance be able to rally back and eliminate some of the veterans? Find out next time on 'The Duel'.
Evan
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 8

Evan makes a huge leap back to the top of the scoreboard this week. He had a great performance in the challenge, saving himself from a possible Duel. Although he isn't as tight with the others as some, he doesn't appear to be in any immediate danger.

Kina
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 10

Kina skyrockets eight positions up the scoreboard into second place this week. Although I don't particularly like her, she did give a great performance in the swimming challenge this week, and she was definitely a key factor in Evan's safety. As long as she isn't challenged by Beth's alliance, Kina has friends that will watch out for her.

CT
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 1

CT remains in the upper part of the scoreboard this week. He put in a solid performance in the swinging challenge, and is well-liked by everyone. He is extremely tough and strong, and I don't think he is going anywhere, anytime soon.

Wes
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 6

Wes moves up this week, as he gave a strong performance in this week's challenge. Although he and Svetlana came up a little short in the end, he is proving to be a worthy competitor, which may make others weary of challenging him to a Duel.

Brad
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 2

Brad slips a little this week. He struggled in the swimming challenge, with the ball accidentally floating backwards, costing Brad valuable time. Although he didn't perform well in this week's challenge, he is still a very strong competitor, and I doubt he is in any danger of elimination at this point.

Jodi
Current Ranking: 6 - Previous Ranking: 9

Jodi is a strong competitor, but we didn't get to see her perform in the swimming challenge, as Derrick knocked the ball out-of-bounds before Jodi had a chance to participate. We'll never know how Jodi would have done, but I suspect she would have performed decently. Jodi doesn't appear to be in any immediate danger.

Diem
Current Ranking: 7 - Previous Ranking: 12

Diem moves up five places this week. She performed pretty well in the swimming challenge, and she shows her bravery about taking off her wig time after time. Diem is liked, especially by CT, and I think he will save her every time, unless one of the girls challenges her, as she doesn't always perform well, but that is unlikely, as they hate the other members of the Drama Mafia much more than her.

Derrick
Current Ranking: 8 - Previous Ranking: 7

Derrick slips one extra position down the scoreboard this week. He was going extremely fast in the swimming challenge, and likely would have won it, until the ball accidentally rolled across the ring and slipped outside the arena, eliminating both himself and Jodi from the challenge. However, I think that was just a case of bad luck, and Derrick doesn't look to be in any danger of elimination at this point, as he could probably defeat any challenger if he were to be challenged to a Duel.

Aneesa
Current Ranking: 9 - Previous Ranking: 5

Aneesa slips down the scoreboard as well this week, due to her performance in the swimming challenge. Like Derrick, she also accidentally let the ball slip out-of-bounds. Her mistake didn't help out their alliance, but it probably wouldn't have mattered, as Nehemiah would have most likely been challenged regardless, unless they could have won the challenge. In any case, Aneesa's mistake not only cost Nehemiah his chance of winning immunity, but ultimately cost their alliance another member, which puts Aneesa in more danger.

Beth
Current Ranking: 10 - Previous Ranking: 4

Beth tumbles down the scoreboard this week, falling six positions. She lost her strongest ally, although it was through no fault of hers, as she tried to save him, but he just couldn't take down Eric in the Duel. Now, Beth's alliance has only one guy, and Wes can't save all three girls. The Drama Mafia is already out for Beth, which could mean she's in trouble, but I have a feeling that Beth will be able to defeat quite a few people, as she is an extremely tough competitor.

Robin
Current Ranking: 11 - Previous Ranking: 11

Robin retains her same ranking this week. I suspect she may be challenged next week, especially if Svetlana is the player doing the selecting. From the previews, it looks like whatever debacle occurs may weaken Svetlana, possibly allowing Robin to survive.

Eric
Current Ranking: 12 - Previous Ranking: 14

Eric stays at the bottom of the leader board for the guys. Although he did defeat Nehemiah in the Duel, he lucked out that the challenge was "I Can", in which his size obviously gave him an advantage. I don't think people will look at him as a stronger threat now, and I still expect him to be on the chopping block on the next male Duel day.

Svetlana
Current Ranking: 13 - Previous Ranking: 3

Svetlana tumbles back down to the bottom of the scoreboard this week, after taking a huge leap up the scoreboard last week. Based on the previews, she was crying and wanted to quit, apparently after having an argument with Brad. This may cause some of the others to view her as weak, and they may challenge her for an easy win. Svetlana will have to battle hard, or she may be going home.

Nehemiah
Seventh Elimination

Nehemiah got extremely unlucky. If nearly any other Duel challenge had been selected other than "I Can", Nehemiah probably would have won. Eric has probably 100 extra pounds on Nehemiah, and that was just too much for Nehemiah to overcome, especially in a challenge involving lifting. Beth's "Tenderoni" is no more, as Nehemiah became the seventh player to be eliminated from 'The Duel' after Eric successfully lifted all 165 of the logs for five seconds.

Casey
Sixth Elimination

While I really wanted to see Casey kick Robin's ass, we all knew what was going to happen, especially after Pole Wrestle was revealed to be 'The Duel' game. Although Casey did hold on, she looked like a little toy being dragged around by a dog. I know she was terrified of heights, but being that she didn't really have anyone to keep her safe, she should have at least attempted a jump in the platform challenge. Casey was probably the weakest girl, and despite all of her heart, she was the sixth contestant eliminated from 'The Duel'.

Kenny
Fifth Elimination

Kenny had a rough time. Although he is athletic, his strength paled in comparison to many of the other guys'. For whatever reason, Nehemiah decided that Kenny was the person he wanted to take to a duel, and even though I thought Kenny would surely win, Nehemiah proved me wrong, quickly stomping Kenny in the Ascender. Kenny was the fifth player to be eliminated from 'The Duel'.

Paula
Fourth Elimination

Even though Paula fell short in 'The Duel', she really impressed me with her toughness against Aneesa, one of the strongest and fiercest girls on the show. She held off Aneesa for an amazing eight minutes, which was something I didn't think Paula possessed the ability to do. If she hadn't been a Key West cast member, she may have made it much further into the competition. Despite her best efforts, Paula was the fourth player to be eliminated from 'The Duel'.

Tyler
Third Elimination

Even though Tyler tried his hardest, there is only so much you can do when everyone is against you. Tyler was the third person to be eliminated from 'The Duel' after challenging Derrick to a duel, and losing to Derrick in the ascension duel challenge.

Tina
Expelled

Tina was expelled from 'The Duel' after she lost her cool and punched Beth in the face. She was stupid for doing it, as she basically let Beth win the battle, and she just looked immature in the process. Tina's actions destroyed her chances at $150,000, making her the second person eliminated from 'The Duel'.

John
Eliminated: Episode 1

John was the first contestant to be eliminated from 'The Duel' after Tyler challenged him, and John unsuccessfully doubted Tyler's ability to lift thirty-one watermelons in 'The Duel' challenge.
