This week on Celebrity Fit Club, the celebrities stepped up to Harvey's bike challenge, and had some impressive results at the weigh-in.
The show began with the teams revealing their team names. Bone Crusher's team chose to honor him by calling themselves the Fat Crushers; and Carnie's team is using her name too - they are Chili Con "Carnie".
The fitness challenge this week took place at a NASCAR site called Irwindale Speedway. The celebrities would be riding 3-wheel bikes, and each time would have to complete a 10-mile race. The team that won would be treated to a weekend in a spa, with their chosen partners. Each team member would have to ride at least 3 laps of the race. All of the celebrities put forth their best effort for most of the race, and the Blue Team (Fat Crushers) pulled ahead. But as the race progressed, Angie began to run out of steam, and caused her team to fall a half lap behind. This caused her teammate, Nick to yell at her angrily. That didn't help, but he didn't stop. She did finish the lap, and Nick jumped on the bike to try to pick up the slack. In the end, it was Vincent who beat Bone to win the race for the Red Team (Chili con Carnie).
At the weigh-in, Carnie was up first. Her previous weight had been 188; she now weighs 180, for a loss of 8 pounds. They talked about how Carnie has become a role model for overweight people; especially those who choose to have gastric bypass. They showed her with a fan, at a recent event where she signed her latest CD. She talked about the changes she has made in her diet. Harvey warned her that she needs to be consistent; she has been up and down too often, with her weight, and that can be bad for her health. Linda asked her how she copes with being a role model. Carnie said that her mother was a great support, to her. Her target for next week is 5 pounds.
Nick was next. His previous weight was 175; he now weighs 171, for a loss of 4 pounds. They discussed his loss of temper, at the race. Linda said she noticed that his feelings are very strong. He admitted that he is very competitive; he just wanted the team to win, and it looked like Angie had given up. Linda got the inspiration to help Nick vent his frustrations by boxing. He said it helped, but knew he would have to increase his endurance. Harvey said that he challenged Nick to a 3-round boxing match, when he'd finished Celebrity Fit Club. Nick accepted the challenge. His target for next week is 4 pounds.
Angie came to the scale next. Her previous weight was 226. She now weighs 217; she has lost 9 pounds. She talked about how hard the race had been for her, but she said she was proud that she had finished her laps. Harvey noted that she was pedaling but hadn't been able to get the bike out of 1st gear. But he applauded her for not giving up. Angie said that she had decided this week to "keep the fridge closed" between meals. Linda asked her how that had felt. Angie said she just decided to do it, and the family had cooperated with her. Her target for next week is 5 pounds.
Ted was next, with a previous weight of 189. He now weighs 178, for a loss of 11 pounds. Ted was very pleased, but joked with Ian that "my body is very angry right now!" He noted that the Fat Smash diet had been difficult, but his weight loss was worth it. Linda asked if the loss changed how he felt about himself. He said that he hadn't been fair to his wife; she is a beautiful woman, and had had to make love with an overweight man. But he was glad that was gradually changing, and that he'd be able to offer her a more attractive husband. Harvey noted that he'd been very impressed with Ted's efforts; which were a credit to a man his age.
Erika came up to the scale. She had previously weighed 152, and now weighs 148. That's a loss of 4 pounds. She said that she'd been using "Susan's Healthy Gourmet Food", since she was too busy to cook healthy food. She said that the portions were just right. She said that post-pregnancy hormones made it difficult to lose weight. She had recently moved to Canada, in order to obtain a more tranquil life. As part of her weight loss methods, she had been taking lessons in Krav Maga (a form of street fighting). She really enjoys this, and it burns 700 calories per hour. Her target loss for next week is 5 pounds.
Vincent was next. He had previously weighed 274, and now weighs 262. This is a loss of 12 pounds. He was very happy. He told about going out to eat, but sticking to his diet. Linda asked how he feels, and he said that he knew he was getting less angry. He noted that all the pictures from before his heart attack made him look angry, but now he was feeling more placid. He also noted that team captain Carnie is his inspiration. He said she has a "glow"; she brings sunshine to his life. He had been using a bicycle to help him lose weight. He utilized an Olympic cyclist as a coach. He didn't really seem to adapt to it quickly, and was caught eating pizza at the bottom of the hill. His target for next week is 6 pounds.
The last lady on the scale was Tina. She stated boldly that she wants to break the Fit Club record for individual weight loss, and promised to wear a bikini if she does it. She previously weighed 193; she now weighs 182. This is a loss of 11 pounds. She was overjoyed, and wanted to call her husband. She told about how she had spent the weekend with him, in Las Vegas. She said that she'd been ashamed to wear a bathing suit, but that her knowledge that she was now actively trying to lose weight made her bold enough to put one on. Linda questioned her about why she'd been ashamed, but Tina said she just wasn't that comfortable with her body yet; though her loss was helping her. She also talked about how she had been of average size, while she was on "Family Ties"; yet industry standards made her feel as though she was fat. She noted that she had been doing 2 workouts a day. Her target for next week is 5 pounds.
Bone Crusher weighed in last. His team stood up to support him. He had previously weighed 424. He now weighs 405, for a fantastic weight loss of 19 pounds! He danced on the scale, in joy. Dr. Ian said this was the biggest loss in Celeb Fit Club history. He rejoiced with Bone, but wanted to challenge him about something that he'd said. Bone Crusher had stated that he was overweight because he has "big bones". So they sent Bone to get x-rays to see if his bones were big. Ian also got x-rays, and put them up next to Bone's. Bone couldn't tell which one was which, but chose the one he thought was bigger. He was surprised to see that they were Ian's... so it seems that Bone doesn't really have big bones after all!
His target for next week is 8 pounds.
At the end of the episode, Ant brought the teams out to the Giant Scale. Chili Con Carnie is the week's winners, with a loss of 42 pounds. Fat Crushers lost 36 pounds. Together, they lost 78 pounds - another Fit Club record!
Highlights from next week show Carnie rock climbing, Erika trying to do some glamour photos, and both teams battling in a fire fighting exercise. And Nick, losing his temper, yet again. Tune in and see how much weight everyone loses next time.
