Celebrity Fit Club: Victory Juice and Ted's Caboose!
Recap by Donna Emery

This week on Celebrity Fit Club, the only thing more annoying to watch than Angie Stone's endless excuses was Gary Busey's insane ramblings and wild-eyed grimaces.
This week began where it left off two weeks ago: Angie Stone was trying to quit, and Tina was trying to encourage her to stay. Angie was full of her usual excuses, and Tina was trying to prop her up and motivate her. Angie vowed that she won't let the judges make a fool out of her. Don't worry, Angie... you do a good enough job of that on your own. Angie decided to stay, and the team was sent out for some motivation.
The Fat Crushers had won the last challenge, and they were enjoying their just reward of a spa weekend. Each of them had brought their significant other, and they relaxed and enjoyed the ambience. It looked like a great place to relax. Later, they all met and talked about the previous week's meltdown. Erika noted that "it went on and on," and compared its redundance to "Groundhog Day on crack."
Motivation for "Hot Buttered Soul" was delivered in a Native American ceremony. This was supposed to motivate them to victory. If the drums and native music weren't enough, the producers had dredged up former Fit Clubber Gary Busey to motivate them. From the time he popped out of the teepee, the motivation session turned bizarre. Most of what Gary said seemed like total gibberish, including a completely incomprehensible anagram on the word "Failing". He gave them such pearls of wisdom as "winners do what losers don't want to do." He exhorted them: "You've been injected with victory juice!," and the native who was conducting the ceremony gifted each of the celebs with a choker. The chokers were said to be made by Souix medicine men. Tina got sentimental and said Gary reminds her of her dad. She especially seemed impressed by Gary's arms. Gary told her that her dad is with her now.
The team ended the motivation session by dancing together, and Gary's insane whoops and crazed looks made me question his sanity. He had special encouragement for Angie, who said she knew she didn't want to lose her cool. Gary said this was a good idea.
As both teams headed into the conference center, we learn that this episode is being filmed on Day 65 of their weight loss journeys. Bone Crusher was the first to be weighed and he strutted confidently to the scale. I love this man's positive attitude, and he has a wonderful smile. Last week, he had weighed 397, and this week he weighs 386. This is an amazing 11 pounds lost, and makes a total of 38 pounds. Bone is now 3 pounds away from breaking the Celebrity Fit Club record for weight loss, and it surely looks as if he will do it. Dr. Ian congratulated him on this praiseworthy accomplishment, and told him that he was glad he had stuck with the program. "Some people your size would have given up, or taken the easy way out and had surgery." Bone basked in their praise for a few minutes, and was given a target of 4 pounds, for next week.
Over on the couch, Carnie looked shocked and offended (as well she might) at Dr. Ian's words. She said she thought he had been "irresponsible and ignorant." Dr. Ian said that he had performed gastric bypass surgery, and that it was warranted in many cases. But he insisted that too many people thought of the surgery as an easy fix; and not everyone who was severely obese should have the surgery. "Most people don't need the surgery," he concluded. But Carnie said he was wrong.
In order to continue the discussion, Ant brought Carnie to the scale next. Before she weighed in, she talked for a few minutes of the health risks that come with severe obesity. She was passionate in its defense, and said that she knows from experience that it is a lifesaver. And that it wasn't "the easy way". But Dr. Ian was just as convinced of his own view, that many people who have the surgery don't really need it.
They agreed to disagree, and Carnie weighed in. Last week, she weighed 174. This week, she is 173. This is just one pound lost, and she admitted that she'd been "tasting" her daughter's food. She said she knew what she had done, and was willing to commit to a strict regimen of 3 meals a day. But the judges surprisingly encouraged her to have 4-5 smaller meals over the course of each day. She also said she didn't think she should eat after 6pm, because that was the time that she wanted to eat too much. But Linda saw that her emotions were involved in this thought pattern. She said that Carnie was trying to punish herself for her slow weight loss, and that she shouldn't do that. They encouraged her to keep to a healthy food plan, and gave her a target of 3 pounds.
Tina was next on the scale, and she smiled as she was weighed. Her new confidence is really showing. Last week, she weighed 173. She now weighs 164 pounds, and has lost a total of 29 pounds! She looks so much healthier. All of the judges congratulated her and encouraged her to "keep it going!" She smiled and said "it's a blessing", and revealed that her mom is joining her on the program, and has lost 25 pounds of her own.
Nick's turn came next. Last week's meltdown had prevented us from seeing that he had lost 3 pounds. His weight last week was 163. This week he weighs 160. He missed his target by just one pound, but he seems so much more mellow, and he is really looking better. He's now lost a total of 15 pounds, and has a target for next week of 2 pounds.
This week, he had joined his brother.....
