Celebrity Fit Club: Carnie Stops Lyin' and Starts Tryin'
Recap by Donna Emery

This week on Celebrity Fit Club, the attitudes were almost all positive, as they prepared for next week's finale.
Ant reviewed last week's events, and reminded us of Angie Stone's amazing turnaround, and of Carnie Wilson's seemingly inexplicable plateau. He revealed that it's Day 86 of the weight loss journey.
But before the week's fit challenge, Ant turned to the season's weight loss leader, Bone Crusher. Last week, he broke the Fit Club weight loss record and has now lost 43 pounds.
Bone always carried his weight well, and now he really looks great. Last week, he weighed 381, and now he weighs 377. This is a 4 pound loss, and an amazing total of 47 pounds. Bone was smiling and basking in the panel's praise. He said his goal is to be 300 pounds. Dr. Ian wondered why he didn't want to aim for a lower weight. Linda asked him if it was possible that he could only conceive of himself as a big man, but Bone didn't think so. He said he'd see how he feels when he gets to be 300, and go from there. His accomplishment is admirable, and if he meets his target of 5 pounds next week, he'll have lost more than 50 pounds.
This week, Bone had also realized his goal of going 1 to 1 against trainer Harve Walden, on the basketball court. Though Harve won the match, Bone's aggressive style of defense had Harve sprawled on the court more than once. And he gave the match his best effort, and Harve was pleased that he'd stuck with it.
The challenge this week was a series of physical fitness events. The team that won would win a set of Cuisinart bowls and kitchen accessories. The teams would both do a bike race, a foot race and a swim race. The teams could choose who did which event. While Ted and Nick tried to psych each other out, Carnie and Tina tried to find out which team members would be doing which events. Carnie and Tina ended up competing against each other in the pool, and Tina easily won. The bike race featured two members from each team, and Vinnie was up against Erika, first. Though Vinnie started strong, Erika passed him. Angie and Bone took the next lap, and this was a very different Angie; from the one who'd let the bike beat her on week one. She sat tall in the seat and really stepped up her performance level. In the end, the Blue Team was pulling ahead.
With this advantage, Nick was far ahead of Ted as they began the foot race. With such a big lead, Nick took the middle part of the race a little easier and walked for awhile. Ted didn't slack, and ran the whole course. But Nick's lead had been too great, and he sprinted for the final stretch to grab the victory for the Blue Team.
Nick's bravado was plain at the weigh-in. "I was on fire," he bragged. Ted didn't see it that way, and noted: "he took a break." Ted was proud that he'd run the entire race, and Nick jokingly admitted "yeah, Ted's good for a 60-year old."
Nick's turn at the scale was next, though first we got to see him in a family trip to the beach. With a slimmer body, he now needed a new swimsuit, and was more willing to show off his physique. He tried on some suits, and grossed out his kids - and me! - with his eventual choice of a yellow Speedo. I suppose it was better than the red thong he tried on, but not much. Last week, Nick weighed 160, and this week he weighs 158; for a loss of 17 pounds. He talked about how the year had been difficult for him, because of the death of his mother. He said he really missed her. The panel encouraged him to keep a positive attitude, though Harve begged him not to wear another Speedo until he'd lost some more weight. I agree. His target for next week is 3 pounds.
Vinnie had had a birthday this week, and is now 60 years old. His weight last week was 255, and it's now 247! This is Vinnie's biggest loss yet, and it brings his total to 26 pounds. He said he felt so good, and had been running on the beach. He talked about how he'd gained weight after his heart surgery, and it felt good to give himself the birthday present of losing weight. Harve had another birthday present for him: a cap from the Marine Corp. Vinnie liked it, and put it on. His target for next week is 4 pounds.
