Celebrity Fit Club: Bone Crushes the Competition
Photo Scoreboard and Rankings as of October 3, 2006

Celebrity Fit Club is back for a fourth season as a one-hour reality show in which eight celebrities compete in two teams of four to lose weight and get in shape.

In each episode, the celebrities attend a `Fit Camp' where they take part in a range of physical and motivational activities designed to shed pounds, increase team spirit and win prizes.

The next day, they face the scales at a `Weigh-In Ceremony' where they'll be individually weighed in by our panel of experts: a doctor, a psychologist and fitness trainer.

This week on Celebrity Fit Club, Bone and Tina share the leading spot. It’s really hard to rank these celebrities, because all of them have done an exemplary job.
Bone Crusher
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 1

Like the title of one of his rap songs, he made everyone else pay atten-CHUN! He’s been the leader for the whole season, and it’s hard to argue with his 51 pound loss. But in addition to his lost weight and new healthy habits, Bone displayed a positive and supportive attitude that helped lead his team to victory. He broke the Fit Club record with 10 pounds to spare. His wife no longer fears an imminent heart attack, and he is aiming for a rematch with trainer Harve Walden, when he drops below 300 pounds. I have no doubt he’ll make it. Well done, Bone Crusher!

Tina
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 3

Though she lost 10 pounds less than Bone, she won the Camry and had the highest percentage of weight lost. If this had been the Biggest Loser, she would have won the whole thing. She went from schlub to schwing! and modeled her promised bikini with flair. Had Bone not been in the competition, the record would have been hers. She broke and now holds the individual percentage record. Her bikini shots may not be Baywatch material, but they are awesome, when you consider what she looked like on Day One. Attagirl, Tina!

Ted
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 2

First he met his goal, and then he topped it for his team’s sake, and because of Harve’s challenge. A man his age would have been justified in resting on his laurels, but he wasn’t. He looks and acts like a younger man. His face has lost its tension, and his body has lost its bulge. "Moses" is dead; long live Isaac! His competition with Nick may have been staged, but it had the desired result on his weight loss. I salute you, Ted! You may not have much of a caboose anymore, but you look pretty good to me!

Erika
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 4

I know the ties seem pretty redundant, but they both earned it. She can go back to work soon, and she can probably pick her roles. But she may choose the Mommy Track, instead – and more power to her! The lady’s proven she has the Right Stuff to meet her goals head -on, and she earned second place in percentage of weight lost. She topped Dr. Ian’s weight loss goal, and lost 4 pounds more. You go, girl!

Angie
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 5

She didn’t lose the most weight. As a matter of fact, her 21 pounds was the least amount lost by any of the celebs this season. But in terms of an attitude turnaround, Angie Stone was the queen. By the third episode, I was sure she’d quit for good. By the fourth episode, I was hoping she would – and it seemed that most of her team might agree. But Angie’s attitude did a complete about-face, and she gained motivation. If she keeps this up, she’ll easily reach her goal of getting below 200 pounds. This lady doesn’t need to sing the blues anymore – except on stage!

Vincent
Current Ranking: 6 - Previous Ranking: 8

You gotta love Vinnie. He really endeared me to him, and I – like Harve – gained a grudging respect for him. In contrast to Angie and her early denials, Vinnie came right out with his admissions of cheating, and slacking off in exercise. He was who he was. But who he was – a man who tried to get on the show last year, but had been stopped by the discovery of an imminent heart attack – became the foundation of who he’s become. I don’t know whether Vinnie will lose any more weight. And I don’t know whether he’ll continue to exercise. But now he knows how, and the journey has helped him see why. Arrivederci, Vinnie! You’ve been real fun to watch.

Carnie
Current Ranking: 7 - Previous Ranking: 6

She was my role model, during my own gastric bypass surgery in 2001. I read her surgery blog and even went to some of her online chats. I studied her story and read her interviews in magazines. One of the reasons I watched this show was to see Carnie. I wasn’t disappointed. I think that seeing her struggle this season has helped me accept my own struggle with the weight. I also had a weight gain after surgery, and knowing I’m not alone has really been a blessing. Carnie let us see and know the real Carnie, and I’m very grateful for her candor. Her struggle is so similar to mine, and it really helped me to see it. I wish you the best, Carnie! I was and am a fan for life!

Nick
Current Ranking: 8 - Previous Ranking: 8

His pounds lost were the same as Carnie’s, so maybe I should have called it another tie, but any guy who says he turns himself on deserves to be in last place. And if that wasn’t enough, he subjected me to those Speedos. Enough. Who are you going to have bragging contests with; now that Ted has gone off to have a life, Nick? Nick has lost weight, and I’m glad he’s boxing to deal with his feelings, but he’ll never convince me – or anyone else – that he’s "leading man" material. Like Carnie says, Nick: "accept who you are." Buona Fortuna, Nicky.

It’s been fun to recap this show, and I look forward to next season. If you like weight loss shows, and yet haven’t checked out my recaps of the Biggest Loser, please go over to that page and follow the competition there. Best wishes to everyone!
