Episode 5 Recap by Jacob D.

Previously on the Fresh Meant Real World - Road Rules Challenge:
With Melinda gone, the Austin cast was down to two: lovers Wes and Johanna. At a challenge involving wall climbing, four teams were unable to finish, and when Tina and Kenny had the worst performance, Wes saw an opportunity. After Coral and Evan won, Wes tried to convince them to spare Johanna, but to no avail. After nominating him for a third exile, Wes was angered and wanted Johanna to taunt and harass the Veterans at the vote, but she disagreed which led to a huge blowup and Johanna getting voted into exile. With the couple split apart, Wes was at a new low and Johanna found the other veteran girls coming to her side. Will this break in their relationship lead Johanna to a new found fighting spirit? Will Wes have to send her home in another exile? Find out now.
This episode begins with Wes discussing the upcoming exile with Evan. Wes says Johanna is a spiteful person and it'd probably take something like this to get her to fight. Jesse confronts Johanna over a rumor that she wants to go home. Johanna clarifies by saying that the way Wes acts makes her want to go home. She also says that she respects and loves Wes and she expects that from him. Wes says that communication is impossible right now and feels it's obvious that the challenge is causing this rift. No, your behavior caused it. You two were fine up until that fight last week.
Everyone in the house decides to ease some stress by having a little costume party of sorts. Shane's favorite costume is Katie and Eric's "Hillbilly Couple", complete with Eric sporting a lot of butt cleavage. Ick. Tonya is dressed as some strung out floozy and Coral says she wins the contest, even though she was wearing the same costume the night before even without a contest going on. Johnnie thinks she's starting to unravel.
Johanna talks to Evan (Evan's popular right now) about the relationship drama, saying she's not going to do anything until Wes comes to her to apologize. Evan advises her to drop her ego and go confront him. That's actually good advice. Lay it all on the line, Jo. Wes, for obvious reasons, has not taken part in this costume thing so Johanna goes in their room to talk to him. They argue some and seem to be making up. In an interview, Wes apologizes and says he doesn't want to talk to her like that again. Johanna tells him that if he does this again, it's over, so he needs to change.
In the morning, the two are fine and dandy. How nice. They are now focusing on winning the next challenge, even though Johanna thinks it'd be funny if she sent Wes home.
At the challenge site, TJ welcomes everyone to the "Rollin' In Oats" challenge. There are two washtubs and two big basins of rolled oats spaced some distance apart. Each team will begin at the tubs and run to the basin to pick up as much of the oatmeal as they can. They will then have 2 minutes to transfer these oats to their tubs and the team with the most oats (by weight), wins. Before the challenge, Kenny knows that if one of the Austin teams wins, he and Tina could be put into exile, so he doesn't want them to win. Wes knows that a win here is the only thing to save him or Johanna, but he recognizes that they are the weakest teams right now. Coral and Evan decide the play order and the challenge begins. Johanna and Jesse and Katie and Eric will be first.
Coincidentally, in this challenge.....
