This week's episode of the Fresh Meat Real World - Road Rules challenge spelled the end for another member of the Austin cast.
As the two teams going into exile, Wes and Casey and Melinda and Ryan fought for the pardon, but fell short.
After winning three challenges, Coral and Evan decide to throw this challenge which opened the door for Theo and Chanda to win.
A blunder in exile caused Melinda and Ryan to lose.
With tensions getting higher for Wes and Johanna, will they survive in this dog eat dog competition?
Coral & Evan
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 1
I have no idea why they decided to throw this challenge. The only way to guarantee your safety is to be first and they've been first three times. Why would they want to throw that away? Evan tried to rationalize by saying they're trying to deceive everyone into thinking they're not trying, but it's more of an insult really. People already know you're capable of coming in first place; you don't need to throw it in their face. Still, I'm keeping them first because of Coral's track record. She's never even been in a single gauntlet, inferno, or anything despite being a bold and brash personality. That's saying something.
Chanda & Theo
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 2
After coming in second for a while, Theo & Chanda finally finish first. Was it because Coral & Evan decided to throw the challenge? Who knows. I'm glad someone else has won. What surprises me though is that in Chanda's pre-season, MTV profile she was painted as a perhaps "more than confident" person. I haven't seen any clue of that and she even sheepishly said in an interview that Theo will kill her if they don't win. Get tough Chanda! We believe you can do it!
Aviv & Darrell
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 4
Darrell & Aviv continue to perform solidly. I don't expect them to go anytime soon.
Linette & Shane
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 5
Shane & Linette continue to surprise everyone. Watching them perform in the challenge, everyone was sure they would be the winners. Even Coral acknowledged them as little powerhouses. I think they will go deep in the challenge, but I don't know if I see them being in the final 4.
Diem & Derrick
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 3
Derrick & Diem hit a bump in the road when they finished second to last by a wide margin in the challenge. I don't think they'll be down for long though.
Katie & Eric
Current Ranking: 6 - Previous Ranking: 7
You know, it certainly is refreshing that Eric is trying to prove us wrong. Not. He's basing his whole game plan on the "Timmy Syndrome". He can't perform as well as the others so he'll just be a big clown so they don't vote him into exile. I never had much faith that they'd perform really well, but that's when you prove people wrong. Eric seems resigned to his fate, but simply intends to postpone it as long as he can. Katie isn't the best physical performer either, but she could step it up if she really wanted to.
Tina & Kenny
Current Ranking: 7 - Previous Ranking: 6
Can Tina do anything? I repeat: Tina talks a big game and doesn't deliver. Kenny also remains invisible. The both of them finish low in the rankings again. I'm moving them down for now since they certainly aren't performing up to par.
Tonya & Johnnie
Current Ranking: 8 - Previous Ranking: 8
Tonya and Johnnie had a rather quiet week. They actually worked as a team and had a great run in this challenge. I doubt this peace will last though.
Johanna & Jesse
Current Ranking: 9 - Previous Ranking: 10
Johanna and Jesse are starting to verge on pathetic and I don't think it's Jesse's fault. They finished second to last in the first two challenges, last in the previous one, and messed up their own lead when Johanna dropped a key in the mud. Even if they had won, I'm sure it would've only drawn a bigger target on their backs, so either way they're screwed. Next week's previews don't look any rosier for this duo, so I expect them to be gone soon.
Casey & Wes
Current Ranking: 10 - Previous Ranking: 11
Wes tries, but he fails. He continues to show a very poor attitude towards Casey when she really is trying hard to help. She's been behind him 100%, even going along with his plan to sacrifice himself to save Johanna, but to no avail. Wes' cocky and arrogant nature has already gotten the best of him, seeing how pretty much everyone wants to see him gone. Like I said before, it's only a matter of time. I don't think Evan's assertion that Wes winning the exiles adds any intimidation to his character is true because he only really won due to other peoples' blunders.
Melinda & Ryan
Eliminated Episode 3
Melinda had a defeatist attitude through the whole episode. In the beginning of this week's episode, she was heard calling Danny and admitting she didn't have much interest in being here without him. Since they didn't win the next challenge, they went into exile and even though they solved a puzzle and dropped their bags, it seemed like they wouldn't win. From the start, Melinda was struggling just to keep up. Forgetting to take the first flag only sealed their fate.
Ev & Danny
Eliminated: Episode 1
Everyone, including the Fresh Meat, knew that the Austin castmates would be immediately targeted and Danny's ouster was the veterans' plan in action. They were blindsided after Tonya revealed to the others that Wes tried to orchestrate a plan to vote out Shane & Linette. When the votes came out, despite an opportunity to switch things up, Danny & Ev were voted into exile and lost against Wes & Casey. I'm not sad to see Ev go because she took on a very superior and offputting attitude from the start, but I'm sad to see Danny go in such a manner.
