It was a week of surprises on the Real World/Road Rules Challenge Fresh Meat.
A physical injury comes out of nowhere to sideline Evan and leave his future in the challenge in question.
Diem and Johnnie surprise everyone with their feats of heart and strength in the challenge, while two strong teams surprise everyone by not completing the challenge (Darrell and Aviv plus Shane and Linette).
Theo and Chanda win and to the surprise of no one, nominate Wes and Casey for exile. Even though many feel Tina and Kenny should go to exile, the rest of the cast votes for Tonya and Johnnie instead, leaving Tonya angry.
Will Tonya's wrath wreck the others?
Will Wes and Casey go into exile and win a fourth time?

Coral & Evan
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 1
They didn't win this time, but they still placed second. They have an incredible track record in the challenge, with a supposed alliance only strengthening their position. The one possible monkey wrench thrown into this is Evan's hernia. What will happen? I don't know, but if Coral and Evan are taken out, there could be some big shakeups.
Chanda & Theo
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 3
Told you they wouldn't be down for long. They finished first in this challenge by a fairly wide margin and they are not in bad spirits with anyone. A budding romance looms for Theo, but he's hooked up before and it's never detracted from his performance, so I don't think this next case will be any different.
Diem & Derrick
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 5
I think a door was opened for Derrick and Diem this week. Derrick is a pit bull who fights for his place in the competition and Diem is a sweetheart who gained everyone's respect with her heart and determination. With strong characters like these two, who could knock them into exile? They ticked off Tonya by voting for her, but it's only a matter of time before she leaves anyway so it's not like there's a new threat against them. What will clench it though is if their alliance with Coral/Evan and Katie/Eric turns out to be true. We did see Coral discussing the vote with Derrick in this episode, so it's a possibility....
Linette & Shane
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 2
Much like Darrell and Aviv, these two were a solid team who shocked everyone by not being able to complete the challenge. I don't think this will be a new trend for them.
Katie & Eric
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 6
Katie and Eric were unable to complete the challenge this week. So why are they moving up in my rankings? Well, Katie revealed that she has an alliance with Coral, Evan, Derrick, and Diem. If all this is true, it could mean great things for her and Eric and bad things for other teams like Darrell/Aviv or Shane/Linette. Actually, things could go either way for Katie and Eric. Even if this alliance rumor isn't true, they could get by because no one sees them as a threat, or they could be cut quickly because they are a weak team. I really am not sure what to do with these two.
Aviv & Darrell
Current Ranking: 6 - Previous Ranking: 4
Darrell had no trouble in this challenge, but Aviv disappointed herself and me when she gave up. She needs to regroup and try harder in the coming weeks because if Katie's assertion of an alliance holds true, they could find themselves on the outside looking in.
Tina & Kenny
Current Ranking: 7 - Previous Ranking: 7
Tina is probably the one who least likes Tonya, but ironically, she should thank Tonya for being unpopular. They had an incredible run in this week's challenge which they did need, but they almost lulled themselves into a false sense of security. Satisfied with how they performed, for a minute it seemed like they were hastily resting on their laurels when really, they need a lot more than just this to pull themselves out of the hole. If Tonya and Johnnie do go into exile and lose, Tina and Kenny are next unless they suddenly kick into high gear or Katie's alleged alliance turns out to not be true.
Tonya & Johnnie
Current Ranking: 8 - Previous Ranking: 8
Tonya and Johnnie should not be in exile. Though they haven't performed "amazingly" as Casey attests, they aren't the worst team around (I can think of 3 who should go before them). It's only because Tonya is widely unpopular that they're getting the shaft. It sucks, but these shows often boil down to popularity contests.
Casey & Wes
Current Ranking: 9 - Previous Ranking: 9
Wes and Casey all but have "sacrificial lamb" tattooed across their foreheads. Who knows? Maybe they do make it to the finals, but they easily have the toughest road ahead of them.
Johanna & Jesse
Elminated: Episode 5
Johanna and Jesse actually had a good run in this week's challenge, but it wasn't enough to save them from exile. A blunder on Wes and Casey's part (forgetting a flag) gave Johanna and Jesse the lead, but an even bigger blunder on their part (forgetting BOTH flags) squashed their chance of returning to the game. They are eliminated.
Melinda & Ryan
Eliminated Episode 3
Melinda had a defeatist attitude through the whole episode. In the beginning of this week's episode, she was heard calling Danny and admitting she didn't have much interest in being here without him. Since they didn't win the next challenge, they went into exile and even though they solved a puzzle and dropped their bags, it seemed like they wouldn't win. From the start, Melinda was struggling just to keep up. Forgetting to take the first flag only sealed their fate.
Ev & Danny
Eliminated: Episode 1
Everyone, including the Fresh Meat, knew that the Austin castmates would be immediately targeted and Danny's ouster was the veterans' plan in action. They were blindsided after Tonya revealed to the others that Wes tried to orchestrate a plan to vote out Shane & Linette. When the votes came out, despite an opportunity to switch things up, Danny & Ev were voted into exile and lost against Wes & Casey. I'm not sad to see Ev go because she took on a very superior and offputting attitude from the start, but I'm sad to see Danny go in such a manner.
