The Gauntlet 2: Episode 6
Things Get A Little Messy
Recap By Brendan Moore
January 20, 2006
I've been on a bit of a break while I get settled in for my semester at college. Things are going smoothly now, so I'm back to my regular schedule. I apologize for the delay in the last recaps. And now I'll start with what you came here for - the recap!
The episode started off with some of the players talking about the upcoming challenge and not knowing what to expect. This is almost true every time though, so it's not focused on too much. It seems that for now the drama is settled down a little bit. I know that it won't last though.
Fast forward a bit to this challenge. TJ Lavin welcomes everyone and starts to explain the mission. I missed what the name was, but it's another sexual tension fueled one. This time they are going to wear bathing suits (which mean Speedos for the guys) and using only their bodies they have to transfer paint to canvases. Once the paint is there, they can spread it out any way the want to though.
Now to make things a little harder, each canvas is a different color and they must finish one completely before they can start on the next. Also, to avoid mixing the colors (and to make things more slippery) the entire team must wash off the paint from their bodies in between paint jobs. The showers are nearby are simply one showerhead per team. I know, this sounds like a good setup for a naughty adult film…
Anyway, the guys are laughing about having to wear the speedoes. MJ does a little dance and Landon seems completely comfortable. Syrus however is having trouble squeezing his goodies into the speedo. He laughs and says that he'll be here all week. He also tells us that we can give him a call at 976-WHOLE-LOTTA if we want a private show or something. This is just wrong, but it still made me laugh.
The teams are suited up and the giggling has stopped. The whistle blows and it's off they go. They start squirting orange paint onto team members and it is mostly on their backs. The painted members run and dive backwards onto the canvases. They are squirming and sliding - people are smearing the paint all over the place. It's a real mess and hard to see exacting who is doing what.
Katie comments that people would originally think paint on people would be kinky, but she says that it's not. She thinks it's sticky and gross feeling. Timmy comments that it's like a big Andy Warhol wet dream. He never makes any normal comments. I hope it's just not me that notices how corny he is.
The teams are pretty even as they finish the first canvas and head to the showers. The rookies are done showering first and head back with the veterans right after them. The blue paint is next and the rookies switch their plans up some. Adam says that guys have bigger backs so only the guys are getting paint now and the girls will stay and spread the paint out.
The veterans are.....
