What's Up With All The Hate?

Recap By Cari C.
December 13, 2005
For those of you who did not watch Road Rules 13 you were probably a bit lost as to why Danny has such hate for Jodi. First let me say that season 13 was the season that finally did Road Rules in. It was an okay season but the people on the show were so bad that they ended up sending three people home. Danny was the first to go even though he thought it should have been Jodi. Both Kina and Ibis followed him out the door. Personally I thought Danny should have been the first person gone. He had a bad attitude the whole time and was not a very good competitor. I would have to say that while Jodi is a good competitor, she has some emotional issues that should have seen her go home instead of Kina or Ibis.

Apparently time has not healed any wounds and Danny is still upset about the whole voting him off thing. I think he fails to remember that he was the one who lost the mission that led up to his being voted off. He got mad and acted like an ass when he couldn't do his part. It was not just Jodi who voted him off, everyone voted to oust him. At that time he did deserve to go home. He was the weak link. I am just surprised that he still holds such animosity for just Jodi. I think she is a little shocked too. She just doesn't understand why he thinks he got screwed over.

As the teams mingle amongst themselves the groups receive their next clue. It says they better be "on top" of their game for tomorrows challenge. They need to be ready at 9:30 am. Ace and Adam are both worried since tomorrow is a male Gauntlet. Both have gone home early in previous challenges and they don't want that to happen again. Derrick is also feeling the pressure but he refuses to give up. He is going to go to the challenge and fight hard so that he doesn't have to go into the Gauntlet again.

The next day the teams arrive and TJ welcomes everyone. He tells everyone that the next challenge is called Moving Pyramid. There are 16 bamboo flagpoles in the ground for each team. Each team will have to construct themselves into a six-person pyramid. There must be three people on the bottom, two in the middle and one on the top. They must then crawl in pyramid formation to the first flag. The person on the top must take the flag off the top of the flagpole and put it on his or her belt. They must then turn around and take it back to the start. The second team of six must then head out to the second flagpole and so on until they have retrieved all 16 flags. If they fall they must start again where the fell. Each person has to be on the top of the pyramid at some point. There is a one-hour time limit. The team with the most flags at the end of that hour will win. If it is a tie then each team will construct an all-star pyramid and race to the end. The first team across the finish line wins.

TJ reminds them that this is a male Gauntlet and the winning male captain will win a $1000 gift certificate from Best Buy and the winning team will bank $10,000 in their account. TJ tells the teams they have one hour to figure out a strategy. Over on the rookie's side, they seem a bit lost. They don't seem to be doing much in the way of talking strategy. The Vets on the other hand seem to think that they will never be able to get to all 16 flags in one hour so they will start out by putting all their lightweight girls on top first. With their hour up, both teams come back and TJ starts the challenge. Both teams head out with Jillian and Anessa on top first. I am not sure how they think Anessa is the lightest female but whatever.

Both teams are having a hard time with the task. I bet there are some sore knees, especially people like Syrus, Montana, and Mark. These people are not 21 anymore. As both teams make their way thru the 16 flags, Danny and Jodi start in on one another again. They are both in a pyramid together and Jodi tells Danny to do something and he just goes off on her again. I mean I know Jodi can be annoying but Danny needs to get over it. They need to work together as a team or they are going to lose. Over on the Vet's side, instead of fighting they are working and getting the job done. Derrick is a monster. He must really not want to go into the Gauntlet tonight. Ace is also doing a good job. He does not want to go home early again so he is really trying to make a good impression on the others.

With a little over two minutes left.....
