Laguna Beach: Valentine's Day - Is It Love Or Lust?

It's always a holiday in Laguna Beach, and this time, it's Valentine's Day. Love, or at least, something like it, is in the Laguna breeze. In true LB-fashion, the big event is not the holiday itself, but the bash Tyler and little sister Nikki are throwing.
Cami and Nikki discuss the impending drama of the party, gossiping about Tyler and Cameron's animosity over Cameron's alleged hook-up with Kyndra (also known as Tyler's girlfriend). Nikki complains about always being stuck in the middle. In my first favorite quote of the evening, she says, "I honestly don't think it's our fault they hooked up. Like not to be rude, but I don't!"
Kyndra and Tyler relax with each other before the big day.
"So many people are going to be hooking up tomorrow, it's Valentine's Day," Kyndra muses.
"Like Cameron?" Tyler asks. Kyndra is angry and wants to know why Tyler would say that. Then, instead of opening his Valentine's Day present and eating the rest of their food, Tyler refuses and wants to take it to go.
Kyndra blurts out, "You know, I did not hook up with him!"
To which Tyler responds, "Whatever."
I can't figure out if Kyndra is the most obvious cheater ever or if she wants Tyler to find out and get jealous. I'm leaning towards the latter.
Cameron and his friend Nick play basketball and talk about the party. Cameron says he told Nikki he doesn't want to go to her house since he and Tyler aren't exactly the best of friends. It would be "awkward," says Cam. As they battle on the court, Cameron tells Nick that he sucks at basketball.
Nick says, "You suck at life," and Cameron responds, "I'm going further than you are." Sad, but probably true.
Tyler and Kyndra decorate for their party, and Kyndra scolds Tyler to 'scatter', not throw the rose petals. They decorate Tyler and Nikki's house with way more flowers and candles than anyone could possible desire for a romantic celebration. Then, Kyndra finds out that Cameron does want to come to the party after all. She asks Tyler if this is okay, and he grunts. I'm not sure if it's all in the editing, but I'm starting to really enjoy Tyler.
Kyndra's friends Cami, Candace, and Rachel place bets on how soon it will be before Kyndra and Tyler are fighting. They also speculate that Kyndra will cheat on Tyler with Cameron once again, noting that the rumors have a basis in truth. It's nice to know they have so much faith in their friend!
Cut to Rocky and Tessa, preparing for Rocky's Valentine's dinner with boyfriend Alex. Rocky says that if Tessa and Alex didn't get along so well, her relationship with Alex just wouldn't work. Tessa asks her best friend if she loves him, and Rocky says she does. She's nervous about what he thinks about that.
Alex picks Rocky up and takes her to dinner with a gorgeous view of the beach. They talk about how their relationship has been a series of 'pretty romantic moments.' Rocky says he's seen her at her absolute worst, and Alex wins points for being sweet by telling her that if that's her absolute worst, it's not that bad.
Then, Rocky decides to go off on Alex's apparent lack of emotions. Still using her cutesy, in-love cooing, she says sometimes, he frustrates her because he's like a rock and she's trying to squeeze water out of him. Why, Rocky, why? Just as I was thinking that calling him a rock was probably not the most romantic thing a girl could do, Alex touches her 'Live, Love' bracelet and blurts out, for some inexplicable-to-me reason,
"You always wear this bracelet. Do you live and do you love?"
Rocky says, "I love you," and after a few nerve wracking seconds, he responds, "I love you too."
When Rocky prompts, "How do you know?"
Alex says, "Cause I feel it."
This is where my viewing partner and I completely lost it. Alex and Rocky, I liked you so much in the beginning. After this episode, I feel you both lost some major cool points. But hey, what do I know? Maybe I should adopt Rocky's motto and just live and love.
Back at Tyler's house.....
