I Love New York: Thank Heaven For Little Girls
Episode 5 Recap by Jacob D.
February 20, 2007
Previously on I Love New York:
The guys compete one-on-one on the courts for one-on-one time with New York. The challenge involved the guys taking turns playing against L.A. Sparks guard Tamara Moore and Whiteboy eventually won. An injury forced Tango to leave the house for a while to see a doctor, but he came back. Feeling threatened by Whiteboy's repeat challenge victories, 12 Pack and Real decided to pamper New York with a massage and the other guys also vied for her attention. A brunch saw Sister Patterson trying to dig up some dirt on them and Whiteboy and Tango renewed their feud. After an outburst at the brunch, a Romeo and Juliet display in the backyard, and the injury from before, Tango was worried he would get sent home, but it was Rico who was shown the door. 6 guys remain in the quest to win New York's heart. Who'll be one step closer after tonight?
Its morning and the guys are stumbling out of bed. Whiteboy feels good knowing there are less dudes around and Boston feels the others view him as a threat now. He says the fact that they pick on him just proves that. Sorry Boston, but they pick on you because you're an easy target. Sometimes the rules of the schoolyard just never go away.
With the boys gathered around downstairs, Chamo delivers a note from New York. Chance reads it and the guys find out that they will be entertaining a bunch of New York's girlfriends. Some footage is shown of the guys getting prepared (including 12 Pack plucking his eyebrows) and Boston and Tango speculate as to the specifics of this meeting. Boston conjectures that these could be celebrities (even wondering if Lil' Kim will show up) and Tango will only swear that this will be anything, but normal. The guys are all kinds of primped and prepared and New York struts downstairs to deliver the news. The guys will not be entertaining a bunch of adult women, but a bunch of litle girls. As kids usually do, they dash into the room screaming and immediately begin climbing all over the guys. New York says that the challenge is to see who could be the best dad by having these guys entertain the girls in a princess party. With that, New York takes Chamo and the two of them go shopping, leaving the guys alone.
Chance is holding some itinerary looking thing and starts out well by getting the girls hyped up. In the backyard, it's another story when he starts to raise his voice to them once the girls show a little resistance. The girls call him on it and he tries to apologize. 12 Pack decides to offer himself up for radioactive little girl make-up experiments. Not really, but he does ask out loud if they want to put make-up on "Uncle 12 Pack." In an interview, he tells us (in all seriousness) that he's hoping the girls think he's cute. New York already thinks you're cute so a bunch of 10 year old girls aren't needed for that. Anyways, they smear 12 Pack with a lot of makeup and afterwards, are scared to approach him because of how he looks. Cue laughter.
In a rather hilarious segment, Chance gets chased down by his new arch nemesis, the little girl in the red dress who gave him the business for raising his voice earlier. Chance has already decided to retreat from all the shenanigans when little Miss Red Dress runs up to him and starts throwing stuff at him. Some of the other girls even join her in chasing him around the yard. Between his psychotic flailing over a bug in the last episode and his running from little girls in this episode, I don't know what to think of Chance, but it's hilarious. Sort of a, laughing at him, but not with him kind of thing.
A bunch of the guy's just watch from the sidelines, acting all prissy, while Boston is just in the thick of it and letting these girls raise hell. Whatever they want to do, he lets them. He agrees to put on a dress for them, he lets them smear stuff on his face, and he even agrees to dunk his face in a cake. He tells us that he'll do anything to win a date with New York and then, in a bit that's probably equally as hilarious as anything involving Chance, we see Mr. Boston campaigning for votes from all the little girls. Not a bad idea, but it's still funny to watch.
Also not afraid to get in the middle of things is Tango. He tells us that he adores kids and this was the most fun he's had since being there. Awww, Tango's such a sweetheart. He shyly tells the girls that he likes New York and one of them says that she hopes he gets her. Chance and red dress girl go at it again, Boston continues to have stuff dumped on him, and Whiteboy is perturbed to find that he has cupcake on his shades. Real comments that some of the girls belong in a zoo.
New York returns from her shopping excursion which means the party is over. New York and the girls go upstairs to have a powwow and New York knows the girls will be honest with her. I'd have to agree because little kids are notorious for not filtering what they say. They start the discussion with 12 Pack and the girls boo, one of them saying he's ugly. Hah! He's not, but with how cocky and insensitive he's been it was funny to hear. Especially since he was banking his strategy on the girls thinking he's cute. The girls don't like Real because he barely participated, the red dress girl says Whiteboy is retarded (no filter on that one's mouth). The girls cheer for Tango and one girl sweetly says that he helped her find her bag. Of course, the girls boo when Chance is mentioned and New York says maybe he isn't father material. Remember that line for later. The girls cheer enthusiastically for Mr. Boston.
It seems that the girls liked.....
