A Chance Obsession Gets Real On I Love New York
By Jacob D.
March 22, 2007
This week's episode of I Love New York brought out the best and worst of people.
New York brought in each guy's mom to learn a little more about them. New York and Sister Patterson clicked with Real and Chance's mom, Claudia, and had a marvelous time. However, the brothers began to fight with each other over New York. Tango's mother wasn't as well received by New York who made rude comments about her in interviews and purposely ruined the lunch.

Sister Patterson, fed up with how obsessed New York is with Chance, offered him $10,000 to leave the competition. When Chance received his chain, he took it off meaning to burn Sister Patterson, but it almost ended in disaster when New York got upset.

In the end, Real was sent home when New York felt he was too sensitive for a girl like her. Two guys are left. Next week is a clip show and in two weeks, the finale of I Love New York. See ya there.

Chance
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 2

Is anyone else getting a sense of deja vu? In both seasons of Flavor Of Love, Flavor Flav had a final two consisting of one calm, put-together sort of girl along with one crazy girl (New York being that girl both times). Now, New York has one sort of laid-back, put-together guy and one crazy guy (Chance in this case). Both times, Flav picked the more stable of the two. Will New York do the same? Considering that she's been obsessed with Chance since day one (or rather, minute one) I think she could be crazy enough to do the opposite.

Tango
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 1

I think this final two is a study on what your heart wants and what your head knows you need. It should be obvious to just about anyone that Tango would be the right choice of the two left. He's intelligent, he's strong, he's successful, composed, yet still wears his heart on his sleeve. This is someone who can take care of New York, but will she follow her mind?

Real
Chainless in Episode 9

Real was left chainless when New York felt he was too sensitive for a girl like her.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whiteboy
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 3

During her alone time with Whiteboy, New York learned he broke up with his long-term girlfriend just two months before coming on the show. She felt it was too soon for him to jump back into a relationship.

12 Pack
Chainless in Episode 7

12 Pack was eliminated when New York found out he wasn't really there for her.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Boston
Chainless in Episode 6

Mr. Boston was left chainless when New York felt, in their heart of hearts, that she just couldn't see herself ending up with him.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rico
Chainless in Episode 5

Rico was left chainless when New York felt he didn't do enough to win her favor.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heat
Chainless in Episode 4

Heat was cut when he still insisted on putting his family before New York. I can see both sides of the issue. A person's family is important, but your significant other also wants to feel like they are the most important person in your life. Heat just couldn't do that to his ya-ya (grandma) and he was left chainless.

Onyx
Chainless in Episode 4

Everyone knows that the best way to get on someone's bad side is to talk trash about their mom. After getting home from church, Onix casually mentioned that he thought New York's mom was being fake and that info got back to New York. He had a lot going for him, but his chances were dashed after that and he was left chainless.

Bonez
Chainless in Episode 3

Bonez was cut when New York felt he was too nice and didn't have that edge that she wants.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

T-Weed
Chainless in Episode 3

T-Weed was cut when it was found that he lied about his financial status, even he proclaims his innocence.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pootie
Walked Out in Episode 3

After Pootie seemed to have a complete nervous breakdown, many people feared for his health, so he left the show to get some help.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Romance
Chainless in Episode 2

Romance was cut when New York felt he was spreading lies about another contestant. From what I've seen, that's the least of Romance's problems.

Token
Chainless in Episode 2

He made no significant moves to win New York's affection and she noticed. When he was given a prime opportunity to make one, he didn't go for it. He didn't want to fool around with a girl who had been kissing on a bunch of other guys. Well, he should've known what he was getting himself into. Token is out.

Trends
Chainless in Episode 2

Trendz tried to be slick and pass out demo CDs behind New York's back. He got caught, but he didn't care. For that, Trendz is out.

Ace
Chainless in Episode 1

What do we know about Ace besides the fact that he's a tennis pro? Not much and that didn't help him out here. He was eliminated in episode 1.

Jersey
Chainless in Episode 1

Jersey seemed like a handsome, well put together guy and I'm sure he's nice, but in reality TV (particularly dating shows), it's important to have personality and make an impact right away. Especially with a drama queen, her mother, and 19 other guys around you. Unfortunately, he didn't do much to make himself stand out and he was eliminated in episode 1.

T-Bone
Chainless in Episode 1

Not to be mean, but did we honestly think T-Bone had a chance with New York? Mama NY thought he was a keeper, but New York herself said there was no way. He was eliminated in episode 1.

T-Money
Chainless in Episode 1

About the only thing New York could say about T-Money is that he looked like a watermelon with his green jacket and pink shirt. T-Money didn't make much of an impression and was eliminated in episode 1.

Wood
Chainless in Episode 1

Wood, much like Hottie and Pumkin from Flavor Of Love One, was doomed when he admitted to being on a few reality shows. He admitted to being on "Mr.Romance" (a summer 2005 reality show that he actually WON), but then tripped up when he tried to claim "Elimidate" as a talk show. New York said she wasn't sure what to do, but I knew he was doomed at that point. He was eliminated in Episode 1.
