Pirate Master - Ranking The Top 10
Scoreboard by Travis H.
July 6, 2007
Last week on Pirate Master, the black crew was in the lead during the treasure hunt until the end. At the last minute, Jay from the red crew decided to dig where Christa (black crew) had just left. Luckily, that was exactly where the treasure was buried, so the red crew won the $40,000 treasure! Azmyth was re-elected Captain, and chose Ben and Jay as his officers. Nessa felt that she was in danger, so she bid high for the pardon. Azmyth saw this coming, and decided not to mark her for elimination. Instead, black spots were given to Louie, Sean and Laurel. At Pirate's Court, Sean received the most ballots. Nessa won the Royal Pardon, even though she didn't need it, and Sean was cut adrift.
This week, Azmyth, Ben and Jay continued to rule the ship after winning the $40,000 treasure. Azmyth, however, began to lose the support of the rest of the crew (except Jay and possibly Ben) after he made the decision to not split the treasure evenly this time around, but keep 60% for himself and his officers and only give 40% to Joy and Laurel. J.D. bid the highest for the Royal Pardon, while Joy did not feel she needed to bid for it at all. In the end, Azmyth marked J.D., Joy and Kendra for elimination with Joy ultimately being cut adrift.
Joe Don "J.D." Norton
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 4
I'm keeping J.D. in first this week even though he is still a huge target on the ship. J.D. is still in a good position as he has bonded somewhat with the ladies on the ship, as well as Louie. He is not bowing down to Captain Azmyth and has let Azmyth know that he should be looking over his shoulder. If Azmyth stays in power, this could be a problem for J.D., however I feel that he will be safe. The ladies know that if they let J.D. be cut adrift that they will only have one more male, Louie, on their side. Plus, amazingly, he has seemed to earn a bit of respect. If I am wrong, he may be cut adrift since he must sell the Royal Pardon next week. Plus, the ladies may not like that he and Nessa are getting so close.
Jay Hatkow
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 2
I don't like Jay. Next to Azmyth, he is my least favorite pirate remaining. He is, however, playing a fairly good game. He continues to stay somewhat in the shadows, planting little hints and thoughts in Azmyth's head and letting Azmyth catch all of the blame. His only downfall at this point is if Azmyth loses power next week, Jay will most likely be marked for elimination (along with Azmyth and Ben) and could possibly be sent adrift. That is unless Azmyth isn't smart enough to bid high for the Royal Pardon.
Louie Frase
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 4
Up until this week, Louie really annoyed me. This week for some reason, not so much. Anyhow, I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azmyth Kaminski
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 3
Azmyth is currently still in power and I feel that he will most likely be safe for another week, even if he does lose his status as Captain. If he does lose power, he will surely be marked for elimination, however he has plenty of gold to bid extremely high for the Royal Pardon. He has, however, lost respect from just about everyone else on board, except Jay and possibly Ben. Plus, would he be smart enough to bid high for the pardon? He thinks the crew loves him, which is obviously no longer the case.
Ben Fagan
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 5
Ben is still the weakest of the "Tremendous Trio". I do feel that he is the safest out of he, Jay and Azmyth. The rest of the crew has lost respect for Azmyth and I think they know Jay is kind of the "puppet master" of the group. I think Ben is losing his respect for Azmyth after the treasure this week was not split evenly. I could be totally misreading him though.
Christa DeAngelo
Current Ranking: 6 - Previous Ranking: 10
After crying last week, Christa rebounded a bit this week by saying that she'll basically take care of business if she is ever put in power. I think the rest of the crew believes her as well.
Laurel Schmidt
Current Ranking: 7 - Previous Ranking: 6
Laurel escaped being marked for elimination this week. Not picking sides still seems to be working for her. She is, however, still a threat to Azmyth, but the question is whether or not he realizes that after their little talk this week.
Elicia "Jupiter" Mendoza
Current Ranking: 8 - Previous Ranking: 11
Jupiter escaped being marked for elimination this week, even though she made it clear that last week she aligned herself with Sean. This leads me to believe that attention has been taken off her now that Sean is gone. I think everyone has bigger fish to fry at this point.
Nessa Nemir
Current Ranking: 9 - Previous Ranking: 8
I think that if Nessa is marked for elimination, she will most likely be cut adrift. The rest of the ladies do not like that she is getting so cozy with J.D. If it came down to J.D. and Nessa, I think Nessa would probably go. She has already had confrontations with others on the ship and I don't think that will be forgotten.
Kendra Guffey
Current Ranking: 10 - Previous Ranking: 7
Kendra was really close to being cut adrift this week. I think that if Azmyth stays in power next week, she'll be marked again, and if that happens, she'll most likely be cut adrift.
Jocelyn "Joy" McElveen
Set Adrift In Episode 6
Joy has been marked for elimination several times and was finally cut adrift. She was constantly running behind, which I think led others to believe that she was not trying her hardest and pulling her own weight. I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did.
Sean Twomey
Set Adrift In Episode 5
Boy, was I wrong about Sean. Actually, I don't think I was completely wrong, but I do think that his elimination shows just how much each pirate's fate depends on who is Captain. If Louie had remained Captain, Sean would not have been the one to go. Sean shot himself in the foot though and made some enemies. He was a little too confident, and spoke a little too frankly. I'll miss him, or maybe I'll just miss looking at him!
Cheryl Kosewicz
Set Adrift In Episode 4
Cheryl may have done well, had she not been chosen by J.D. to be an officer. Her association with J.D. was the reason for her downfall. Although it looked like that was the only reason she was cut adrift, I think there were probably other reasons too. If she was the standout performer that she painted herself to be, she would have had more people sticking up for her. She had an air of arrogance about her which didn't sit well with some of the pirates. Her friendship with J.D. gave people the excuse to cast their votes for her.
Alexis Shubin
Set Adrift In Episode 3
Alexis was cast adrift for all the right reasons. She realized that Dude
this is like work, always pulling ropes and stuff. There are no tribes
as such. Your ability to keep your end up affects everyone, because
there's no predicting who will be on the same crew as you. There's no
point in protecting the weakest persons, because that person could cost
you the treasure next time around.
Christian Okoye
Set Adrift In Episode 2
Poor Christian, I liked the guy a lot. I think his heart was in the right place, but he was a little too outspoken for his own good. I really wish that the vote would have gone the other direction and Kendra would have been the one to go. Christian just didn't have it in him to scheme the way he needed to in order to be successful in the game.
John Lakness
Set Adrift In Episode 1
Poor John, I had high hopes for the scientist/stripper. Unfortunately, his ego was the size of Montana and everyone saw it. I knew as soon as he opened his mouth that he'd be voted out first.
