Project Runway 3: Jeffrey Wins - Final Rankings
|
Photo Scoreboard and Rankings as of October 19, 2006
Project Runway 3 has finally come to a close and what a ride it was.
We began in July when PR switched things up with a summer season instead of premiering in winter like the first two seasons. We were introduced to a wide range of characters including stylish mom Laura, German talent Uli, bold and brash Jeffrey, and young up-and-comer Michael
After some very varied challenges including one involving dogs and another involving garbage, 11 designers were eliminated leaving us with a final four consisting of the designers I named in the previous sentence. There was drama to be had such as a disqualification and a now infamous run in with a certain someone's mom, but the designers persevered and were rewarded for their effort by all four being allowed to show at Bryant Park.
After spending two months at home working on their final collection, the designers gathered again in New York where blood was drawn over accusations of Jeffrey outsourcing work on his collection. An investigation was launched and he was cleared of the charges and allowed to participate as planned.
Though all four had strong showings, it was Jeffrey who came out on top. Will there be a season four? If so, I'll be there to offer my recaps and rankings and opinions of course. See ya there.

Jeffrey
Winner
My man wins the whole thing! Jeffrey probably won't be winning Mr. Congeniality for the season, but he had a strong, edgy point of view and personality and though his pieces didn't always succeed, they were never boring. He was always changing things up and when it came to his final collection, he floored the judges with his range, polish, and cohesiveness. He achieved so much without sacrificing or losing sight of who he was and though it was a bumpy road in the end, he finishes the season with the best collection, 2 challenge wins, and the big win. I am glad to see him succeed after leading a tough life and I will always be a big fan.

Uli
Runner Up
Uli had a unique design style that has never been seen on this show before. She always had interesting pieces and a surprising knack for fabrics and prints. Her collection, though it seemed drab and disappointing at first, came to life when her pieces hit the runway. The judges loved it and thought it was very marketable, but she finished in second for the season. I know she'll have a great career ahead of her.

|
Laura
Finished 3rd
The judges love Laura's sense of glamour and style and thought her collection was elegant and wonderfully done. However, she finished in third because the judges still found her too predictable.
|
|
Michael
Finished 4th
Though the judges love Michael, they felt he needed time to mature as a designer when they were disappointed with his collection. He finished in fourth for the season.
