Road Rules Viewer's Revenge: America Is In Control
Casting Special Recap by Logan Huffman
January 29, 2007
Welcome to the 14th season of Road Rules, except this time, America is in control!
MTV host Susie welcomes us to this casting special, saying that before 'The Duel', 'The Gauntlet', and 'Fresh Meat', one show started it all. We are shown a video montage of previous 'Road Rules' challenges.
Susie tells us that 'Road Rules' is back, and it has had a major makeover, as they have tricked out the 'Stink Tank' (which is the lingo for the RV), and they have also loaded it up with 'Road Rules' all-stars.
Susie says that it is now time to meet our competing veterans: Kina from 'Road Rules Xtreme' (Oh God no, not again! I had enough of her on 'The Duel'), Abram from 'Road Rules South Pacific', Veronica from 'Road Rules: Semester at Sea', Shane from 'Road Rules Campus Crawl', Adam from 'Road Rules: The Quest', and Susie from 'Road Rules: Down Under'.
Host Susie welcomes the all-stars, saying that before they begin, we are going to take a look back at how they all got there. We see another video montage of all of our 'Road Rules' all-stars competing in different missions.
Host Susie asks the players after seeing the video, how do they feel about spending so much quality time together in such close quarters? Player Susie responds that it is time to get 'Road Rules' back, as she is tired of waiting, which gets a huge cheer and applause out of the audience. Abram thinks that they have assembled a good cast, and Adam is happy that there aren't any crazies. Only time can tell about that. Someone remarks that at least there aren't any 'Real World' girls, and Abram says that 'Real World' isn't really vicious. What? Has he been watching 'The Real World: Denver'?
Host Susie says that there was some drama before between player Susie and Kina. We see a video clip, and player Susie says that she is ready to start fresh, and Kina agrees, adding that it was a long time ago, and she is excited to get to know Susie under different circumstances. Are the circumstances really that different? They are looking forward to living together, and player Susie adds that if they fight, it will be new and fresh fights.
Host Susie asks about sexual tension, calling out Abram and Veronica, as we see a clip of them showering together. Abram says that he doesn't think it is a big deal, and Veronica says that they have been there, and done that, which cracks me and the audience up.
Host Susie tells us all to get ready for a wild ride, as the rules have changed. The way it works is these six veterans will be starting the show off, but there is a group of eight new people, known as the Pit Crew, who are secretly watching backstage. One member of the Pit Crew informs us that the all-stars don't know that they are backstage, and they will be coming out in a little bit to surprise them.
Host Susie continues to explain the rules, saying that after the cast completes their first mission, they will nominate one guy and one girl for elimination, and after the show, America will choose which person will go into the elimination round, along with which Pit Crew member will face off against them. If the current cast member wins the elimination round, they will return to the RV, but if they lose, the new player will head back to the RV, while the veteran will join the Pit Crew, having a chance to return back to the RV in the future. Host Susie adds that while it may suck for the players, it is really cool for the audience at home.
Host Susie tells us that it is time to meet the Pit Crew. The first guy is named David, who is twenty years old and from Kansas City, Missouri. He tells us that once he gets onto the RV, he is going to freak everyone out, and freak them out really bad, because he is a crazy ass white dude from the Midwest. On his audition tape, we see him saying that he is a daredevil, and does whatever anyone says. He yells to his mom that is the reason that he didn't go to college, and tells his dad that it is the reason that he is still living in the basement. He promises us that if we get him on the RV, he will be worth watching. Oh my God, please don't vote this loser on!
Host Susie asks the veterans what they think of David. Kina says that he seems great, while Veronica thinks his farts will smell. What? Who thinks of how someone's farts will smell the very first time they see them? Hopefully, we can get Veronica eliminated very soon. Adam does an impression of David, saying that he will freak everyone out. Host Susie asks Adam if he thinks David looks like a good athlete. Adam sarcastically responds that he looked fit, while Abram asks if he meant thick. Backstage, one girl is going crazy that David was called thick. Adam adds that you have a very small space on the RV, and sometimes it pays to have someone Veronica's size.
Host Susie tells us that the next Pit Crew.....
