Road Rules Viewer's Revenge: An Easy Win And An Easy Loss
Pit Elimination Challenge #1 Recap by Logan Huffman
February 5, 2007
On the season premiere of 'Road Rules', we all saw the others nominate Shane and Veronica for elimination, thereby sending both of them to The Pit, with whichever player receiving the most votes from America being forced to battle for their spot on the RV against whichever member of the Pit Crew America cast the most votes for.
Host Drew welcomes us to The Pit, reminding us that Veronica and Shane will be meeting him in The Pit for the very first elimination challenge. Shane and Veronica come running out, and Drew welcomes them to The Pit, asking the players how they are feeling. Both say that they are feeling good. Drew asks them why they think they are there, and Shane responds that they didn't kiss enough ass, while Veronica says that they were just targeted.
We look back at what happened on the series premiere episode, and after our recap, Drew says that they both seemed pretty angry. Veronica says that the others were spouting bullsh*t for days up until the vote about how they were all going to stay together, and Shane says that he was told that they would draw names out of a hat, which he thought would be more fair.
Drew says that it is now time to see which guy and girl from the Pit Crew got the highest votes from America this week. For the guys, it is LaMonte, or Monte for short. We are re-introduced to Monte, who tells us about his dancing company once again, and we are reminded that he loves ties. Drew asks Shane if he thinks he can take Monte, and he says that he can. Drew asks Shane what he thinks about Monte's tie, and he responds that Monte is always snappily dressed.
Veronica is ready to meet the highest vote-getting female from the Pit Crew, and that person is…Tori, our 19 year old beauty queen from Virginia, who reminds us that she grew up playing sports, and she was a huge tomboy.
Drew asks Veronica and Shane if they will raise hell when they return to the RV. Veronica says that it isn't about going back and tearing down curtains and throwing luggage into the pool, which is a classic. She continues on in a long explanation, saying that she won't allow herself to continue to be nominated and that she will not be a victim of the rules of the game, and insinuating that she would be willing to throw two missions in order to get others nominated alongside her. Drew says that her plan sounds pretty sneaky, while Shane says that the bottom line is if they f**k him over, he'll do the same to them.
Drew brings out their competitors from the Pit Crew, first bringing out Monte. Veronica asks him where his tie is, and he says no tie today, as it is down and dirty. Drew welcomes Monte to The Pit, and Monte is excited that the viewers voted him on. Drew asks him how he got America to vote for him. He says that he put his personality out there in the online blog, and luckily, America loved him, and he loves them for loving him. After Drew asks Monte if he thinks he can take Shane, Monte responds that he thinks he can take anyone that they put in front of him. Drew asks Shane the same question, and Shane says that they will see, but he isn't going to start off by bad-mouthing everyone. Monte agrees, saying that it can be friendly, non-aggressive competition until they get into The Pit.
Drew asks Veronica if she is ready to meet her competitor, and she says that she is very excited to do so. Drew brings out Tori, asking her if she is excited or nervous. She says that she is both, and he asks her if she thinks she can take Veronica. She says yes…maybe. What confidence!
Drew tells the players that America has voted, and the top nominated player this week is…Veronica! Veronica looks excited, while Tori looks worried. Drew tells Monte to keep blogging, and he tells Shane that he will be returning to the RV.
The girls step in closer, as Drew pulls.....
