Real World Austin: Oct. 18th Episode
"I Don't Wanna Have Sex" - What?
By Natasha Darius
October 19, 2005
On The Real World...Okay. So Rachel's boyfriend finally makes plans to come to Austin. Before he arrives, she calls him to tell him that she loves him and she can't wait to see him and they are going to have tons and tons of sex, etc.etc.etc.
Erick arrives and everybody meets him and you know the drill. Take the tour of the house and what not. Rachel and Erick retire for the evening and what do you think Erick is gunning for? The bootay! Guess what Miss Rachel says. "I don't wanna have sex". What? What happened to the big expectation and what not? Then during her confessional she says that there's no chemistry anymore between her and Erick. She said she looks at this guy as her brother. Are you kidding me?
Meanwhile, gossiping Lacey is telling her boyfriend Ryan about Rachel's relationship with Erick and how strange it is.
Now, here I have to agree with Lacey. Rachel told Lacey that she and Erick don't talk as much anymore. So Lacey says, "well if you don't talk as much, then how do you know that you love this guy." Rachel tells Lacey that she doesn't understand. You know what Rachel? I don't understand either. In the meantime, this guy is putting away money for a ring for Rachel. He has no idea.
Later on they go to the good old Dizzy Rooster and Rachel asks Erick if he's mad because she doesn't want to have sex with him. Rachel said that she doesn't want sex to determine her major decision when it comes to Erick. Huh? Like a nice boyfriend (I guess) he tells her it's okay. They don't have to have sex. Wow... you travel all the way from New York, get promised some booty on a phone call, then you get there and no booty. Wow Rachel.
What would we do without Lacey? Erick decides to seek some advice from the resident snoop. Oh noooooooooooooo. Lacey pretty much blows up Rachel's spot. She tells Erick about all of Rachel's hanging out with guys and bringing them back to the house and cuttin' loose. She told him EVERYTHING. Then Lacey tells Erick that he's getting the short end of the stick and he doesn't deserve it. Rachel is doing whatever she wants to do and has no regard for their relationship. Apparently, Erick and Rachel forgot that the house has no doors. Yes... Rachel heard every drop of that conversation.
Later on Rachel tries to cover her ass by telling Erick that Lacey is the last person he should confide in because she and Lacey are not close at all. You know...Lacey may talk about people and spread their business, but at least she's honest. I just wish she would tell it to people's face instead of behind their back. Maybe then I would have an inch of respect for her. If you're not gonna say to their face, then mind your business and keep your mouth shut. As it stands, I don't have respect for Lacey.
Rachel and Erick have a chat about the situation. And me and poor Erick were confused by the end of it. First she says she loves him and wants to be with him and in the same breath, telling him that they should just be friends for the duration that she's in Austin. If you really want to know the truth, Rachel just wants to have her cake and eat it too. She wants to keep Erick at bay, and run around Austin with any guy she pleases. Keeping Erick as her friend would mean that she's guilt free. Yeah... I know the game.
Well Wes decides he gonna come to the rescue and have a groupie party or a "vagina fest" as he calls it. Wes decides that he's gonna show Erick a good time since Rachel is being all simple. Nehemiah and Wes go to the groupie drawer and call all the girls. It blows my mind how utterly unattractive Wes is and how he keeps saying that women are swinging from his nuts every time he and Nehemiah go out. Whatever!
Rachel talks to Erick and says that she's not comfortable with him going out to be with other girls. But Erick says, "Well this is what happens when you're broken up." Rachel responds by saying they're not broken up. What? Will you make up your mind? Just the other night you told the man you just want to be friends! Or does the friendship officially start after he leaves? Rachel needs to be smacked with a wet fish. I'm so over her.
Anyhoo...Erick, Wes and Nehemiah go to the Dizzy Rooster to hook up with the so-called groupies, but Erick just couldn't do it and decides to go home to be with Rachel. I don't know what for. She still didn't give him any.
It turns out that Erick leaves Austin without getting any booty and they swear their love for one another. Here's my advice to you Erick. Go back to New York and do your thang man! Rachel is not being faithful by any means. Although, I'm sure you're finding that out now as you're watching the show. Don't waste your time dude. Live your life.
In case you're wondering about the love birds Danny and Mel. They spent most of their time at the sheriff's office. Not because of any trouble they got into, but Danny was busy trying to press charges against the guy who put a dent in his face weeks ago. They succeeded at their mission and there's a warrant out for that guy's arrest. Good for you Danny. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Danny is convinced that he's going to marry Mel. Couldn't they have left that out and save me from having to puke tonight? Ugh!
