Real World 17 Key West: Episode 6
Real Annoying, Real Irritating, And Real Childish

On The Real World...It's almost that time and the Key West crew will finally have a place to call their home...of employment that is. Everyone's pitching in and getting their elbows greased as they hook up Mystic Tan Salon for its anticipated grand opening.
Svetlana makes a suggestion about the colors on the walls being slightly different. Who do you think jumps on her back? The ever faithful Tyler. I think it's official that Tyler hates Svetlana. As soon as she breathes, he's ready to beat her down with painful sledge hammer words. It's time for her to stop buckling under every time Tyler opens his mouth and slap him real good.
Discussion has come up about who will be manager and Svetlana throws in her hat. However, nobody else is on board with her decision. She said she believes she has the experience more than anybody because she managed her dad's pharmacy. Svetlana thinks she would be a great manager. I have couple questions for you Svetlana. Did it ever occur to you that maybe you're the only one who believes she's a good manager? Did you ever stop to think that just maybe the people you managed prior to Key West appeased or tolerated you because you were the boss's daughter? Ponder on these things Svetlana.
Meanwhile, in the van on the way home, Tyler and Zach talk about what the job expectations should be. Tyler makes it a point to say that Svetlana should not be the manager. "She's the most irritating person in the house."
Back at the house, Zach runs it by Svetlana about him taking on the position of Manager. She flips out of course. "Zach you have no back bone to be a manager. I have to be manager. If you become manager, I swear, I'll go home. I need to be manager." Talk about a hissy-fit. Svetlana, you can't always get what you want boo boo.
What do you do when you live in a fabulous house with six other people with a cushy job on the horizon? You find a new outlet. Tyler joined a local swim team. And to boot...he participates in a biathlon and wins. He didn't have a bike so after swimming a grueling distance; he hops on his feet and runs an undisclosed distance. Not bad Tyler. You're more of an athlete than the other "totally dudes" you live with.
Later that night...Jose and Tyler share a little one on one time. Not what you think folks. Maybe I should rephrase...male bonding time. That's better. I think. Anyhoo...Tyler shares with Jose that he feels isolated from everyone else. Nobody has really taken the time to get to know him and see how he really ticks. He said people see him as being too driven because of the many things he's accomplished in his young life. Maybe if you didn't spend so much time talking about people behind their back and purposely pouncing on 19 year old girls with issues and no backbone, maybe people might be curious enough to be interested in the real Tyler. Just a thought.
Later, the kitchen is busy because Svetlana his preparing a dinner of epic proportions for Mystic Tan Salon's owner. Sorry guys... I don't remember his name. The meal was huge! A whole lot of chicken... that' for sure. I will tell you what did disturb me though and what I thought to be pretty gross. Svetlana took the chicken right out of the package and placed it in the pan to cook. That's nasty! You're supposed to clean the chicken first! If any of you are doing that...shame on you! I would never eat from anyone who doesn't clean their chicken first before cooking it. This tidbit of information might not have been insignificant to you, but too bad. You're not writing this recap.
Anyhoo, after dinner, everyone sits around the table discussing who they would like to see as manager. Svetlana, needless to say, was not the top pick. The other roommates believe that Svetlana should not be manager because no one really respects her. And that's true. Even though Zach has no managerial experience the roommates would prefer that Zach wear the manager's hat. Svetlana is pissed and says that this is so personal. "You don't want me to be manager because you three don't like me." You three would be Tyler, John and Janelle.
Svetlana points out that Zach has zero experience being a manager, but her rebuttal is overruled and Zach is voted in as manager of Mystic Tan. The owner then says that they need an Assistant Manager. Jose's hat is thrown into the ring and this time Svetlana is really about to lose it. Being the good guy that Zach is, he suggests that Svetlana would make a great Assistant Manager given her experience. Ummm... I don't know. Jose would be the better choice in my opinion. Firstly, Jose is another person in the house that everyone else respects. Secondly, he owns his own business. Anyhoo, Zach's comment is ignored and Jose is voted in as Assistant Manager. Svetlana stomps off in tears.
Later, Svetlana calls her boyfriend, Martin, and cries about what just happened while everyone is downstairs having a good 'ole time not even giving recent events a second thought.
Svetlana comes back downstairs and hands over her list of responsibilities as Finance Manager, to Zach and says, "Here you take care of it." Wow. That was real mature. And you wonder why everyone in the house treats you like a little kid and does not respect you? Svetlana, in the real world you don't always get the job you want and you have to take the responsibility that is handed to you and be the best at it...regardless.
While Svetlana hides behind her bedroom door waiting to hear the roommate's reaction, she doesn't get the response she was expecting, like maybe somebody running upstairs to beg for her help. I don't think so boo boo. The consensus was "We'll take care of it. She's acting like a spoiled little brat and it's real annoying."
Svetlana, you are dealing with grown folk now. Step up your game babe. Nobody is trying to deal with your temper tantrums. So get hip to the game and suck it up. If you want be to treated like an adult, I suggest you start acting like one.
