Rock Star: It's All Over But The Crying

Well it's all over but the crying, and it's just the beginning…what? Well the summer has officially come to an end now that Rock Star: Supernova is finished and a lead singer has been chosen. It is just the beginning because now CD's will be released and the Supernova tour starts in January. Lukas the Canadian boy wonder has won! And I am sure The Rossi Posse partied hard last night.
I have mixed feelings on all this, I am not going to recap the episode. I am going to make my final comments and open some topics for discussion. So if anyone feels the need to react to this please email me, I love a good debate.
Magni had the lowest number of votes and was the first to go home last night. Supernova said he was vocally sound and consistent but the fact that he played the guitar so well etc he seemed like a part of the band not the front of it. Magni, I think, agreed with them and must have really bonded with the house band as he said he wanted to be in it.
Or maybe he was hoping with that comment they would invite him to join them on tour, what do you think?
That made the final three Lukas, Dilana, and Toby. They showed a very brief clip of the artist's comments and history on the show. One by one the final three got to make a comment to the band in attempt to sway their decision.
Lukas basically said he didn't go to Rock Star to place second or third, he was there to win. He told the band that with their past successes they could be egocentric bad guys but they aren't, they are really cool and grounded. Lukas respects that and would be honored to front them on tour.
Dilana said she needs Supernova and they need her, then she said I really want to rock the world with you, and my personal favorite she said Lukas in amazing, Toby is incredible, but I'm the one! The band had a good chuckle and all I can say is I agree.
Toby said he has come along way in this competition, he has taken the judges' comments to heart and adjusted accordingly and that he is ready now. Ready to go on tour and perform, he also said he would bring more energy to the stage if he had a few beers first, and last but not least he said I'm tallest! At which point Dilana slugged him on the arm.
That was the second time I heard Toby make a comment about needing a few drinks. Perhaps the boy has a substance abuse problem. I really hope not, then again what rock star doesn't need a liver transplant by age 30. It does concern me though, hopefully someone close to Toby saw it on the show too and will keep an eye out for him. Or better yet hopefully he's trying to be funny and there isn't really an issue to worry about. Comments anyone?
The final 3 get to sing one last song each. A cover tune, it wasn't explained who or how these songs were chosen, but they were all repeat performances and all three were a fast rock song. What I'm trying to say is it all went well together it wasn't a ballad or fast slow. I hope you can figure out what I'm getting at because I can't seem to articulate it today.
I thought Toby's final song was way better than the Billy Idol tune he sang earlier in the night. Lukas sang all his songs last night so that I could make out most of the lyrics, I was almost impressed. Dilana did as Dilana does in her bear feet.
Immediately after the performances the band addresses the performances. Usually when they are speaking to the bottom 2 or 3 they will make a comment to each person before saying or revealing who is going home. I believe that's contestants were expecting. Right after the singing stopped Gilby commented on Toby's performance and said you are the next to go home.
They were shocked; Dilana looked as.....
