The Amazing Race 10: And the Twists Just Keep On Coming

Last week on The Amazing Race I was sad to see Tom and Terry go home. Especially after those two worked so hard to try to paddle that boat. Unfortunately they went home and we get stuck with Peter for another week.
I wanted to thank all the readers who sent me emails telling me how much you agreed with my view of Peter. I was hoping this week he might see the error of his ways and be nicer to Sarah. Hey, a girl can dream can't she?
Of course there is that old saying about a leopard never changing his spots. I guess that fits in here nicely.
Last week Rob and Kim rose to first place so this week they are first to depart the Pit Stop at 1:47 am. Teams must now fly 3000 miles to Chennai, India. First they must travel to Hanoi by train and due to laws in Vietnam; they must purchase tickets at a travel agent instead of at the airline counter.
Rob and Kim head towards the train station. The other teams depart the station at the following times:
2:17-Peter and Sarah
2:21-James and Tyler
2:28-Godwin and Erwin (the brothers)
2:49-Mary and David (Kentucky)
2:53-Karlyn and Lyn (Alabama)
3:46-Dustin and Kandice (the beauty queens)
Rob and Kim arrive at the train station only to find it closed. It doesn't open until 5:00 am. This gives all the teams the chance to catch up. All the teams end up on the same train to Hanoi. On the train the brothers, Karlyn and Lyn, and Mary and David work together to figure out where the travel agents are located. Peter overhears them and tries to get into their conversation but they won't have any of it. He gives up and goes to the next car to bother the beauty queens. He asks them if they want to work together. They agree but after he leaves the two laugh. They don't really want to be in an alliance with Peter but they will use him to get information. They think the only reason he wants to be with them is because he likes them. If it was anyone but Peter I might think the beauty queens were just full of themselves. Of course this is Peter we are talking about so I don't doubt it.
While all the other teams make plans, Tyler and James reminisce about their former drug addictions. Sometimes I think they keep talking about this a bit much. We get it so let’s move on.
Back in the other car the brothers have borrowed a cell phone and they call around trying to get tickets. Peter decides he has to do the same thing so he heads back up front and he and the beauty queens find a cell phone and do the same thing as the others. I bet the other teams were glad when the train finally arrived. I can imagine that being cooped up in a train with Peter is not fun. All the teams get off the train and run for taxis. They're all trying to find the closest travel agent. All the teams start arriving at travel agent offices, everyone that is but the brothers and Mary and David. The two places they go are closed down. They head back out and both teams finally end up at a travel agent. Peter and Sarah and the beauty queens end up at the same place and get tickets that have them arriving in Chennai at 11:00 am. Both teams head out for the airport.
At another travel agency, Tyler and James and Rob and Kim have found tickets that will get them into Chennai at 9:20 am. They are excited about their good luck until they find out they have to wait to get the tickets. They have to be brought to the office by a messenger. With only two hours until the plane departs it is going to be close. In another agency, Karlyn and Lyn find tickets that get them into Chennai at 12:00 pm. Mary and David also end up on the same flight. This will put them way behind the other teams. Lucky for them the brothers get tickets on a flight that arrives in Chennai at 9:20 am and when they all arrive at the airport they share the news with their friends. Mary and David and Karlyn and Lyn get really worried and head off to try to get tickets on the better flight.
Since all tickets have to be bought at a travel agency I am not sure how they pulled it off but they did find someone who lets them switch tickets. Once there however, they will not be guaranteed tickets to Chennai. After weighing their options both teams decide the risk is worth it and they switch their tickets to the better flight. While the others were getting their new tickets, Peter takes the time to make fun of the other teams, especially Karlyn and Lyn and Mary and David. It just proves yet again what a jerk Peter is. After he gets a good laugh at he expensive of others, he and Sarah and the beauty queens board their plane and depart. With time ticking away I was beginning to get a little worried about Tyler and James and Rob and Kim. Their tickets do finally arrive and both teams head to the airport. All four of the remaining teams board the plane and head out.
