Last week on the Amazing Race we finally got to see MoJo get what was coming to them. I was so glad those two got the boot. Sometimes there is justice in reality television. Tonight the final three teams will battle it out for the million. I know it's going to be tough but I really hope that my beloved hippies can pull out a win. If not them then I hope that it's Ray and Yolanda. All I ask is that the frat boys don't win. I don't think that is asking much. I just can't stand to think about that million dollars going to two guys who will use it to drink themselves into oblivion and date strippers. Okay maybe I am being a little dramatic but you know what I mean.
Last week Ray and Yolanda won the super cool vacation to Australia. Along with winning the trip, they also won a night in a luxury suite. This could give them a nice advantage over the others or at least I hope it gives them at an advantage over the hippies. At 11:18 pm the hippies get to depart with their clue. Teams must now take a taxi 75 miles to the providence of Otutaha and search for the Royal Kraal. There one of the elephants will give you the clue on a T-Mobile sidekick. The Hippies grab a taxi and head out. At 1:21 am the frat boys depart. At the Royal Kraal the hippies arrive only to discover the place does not open until 4 am. As they wait for the place to open Ray and Yolanda depart the Pit Stop at 1:28 am. Soon all the teams are at the elephant place waiting for the gates to open.
At 4 am the gates open and the teams rush in to get the clue. All the teams find the elephants and receive the next clue. Teams must now fly 7000 miles to Tokyo Japan. Once there they must drive themselves to Shibuya, which is Tokyo's version of Time Square. There they must search the giant screens for their next clue. The team's head and my hippies are excited. Tyler speaks Japanese and has actually been to Japan before. They are sure this will give them a huge advantage. At the airport Ray and Yolanda are the first to arrive. They find a United flight that leaves at 6:40 am and arrives at 2:15 pm. While they purchase tickets for that flight the other two teams arrive and begin their search for tickets. The frat boys barely beat the hippies to the airport so they tickets on the same flight as Ray and Yolanda but my hippies are out of luck. There are no more tickets. My hippies are left behind while the other two teams head off to Japan.
Instead of crying over their bad luck my hippies rush and find another flight that will get them into Tokyo at 4:00 less than two hours after the other flight. They board their plane and hope their knowledge of Japanese will help them catch up. In Japan the first flight lands and both teams race to find Shibuya. As usual Ray and Yolanda get lost. This time however no one seems to speak English so they have a very hard time getting directions. While they drive around aimlessly the second flight carrying the hippies arrives. They rush out in hopes of making up some lost time. While both of those teams make their way to Shibuya, the frat boys are already there. They park the car and head off to look for the clue. They search all the screens until they see one that reads Find Hachiko. Teams must now locate the statue of Hachiko a dog famous in Japanese folklore. There they will find a man with their next clue.
In no time the frat boys have found the statue and the clue, which is a Detour. A Detour is a choice between two tasks each with its own pros and cons. In this Detour teams must choose between Maiden or Messenger. In Maiden teams must travel seven miles by taxi to a Japanese tea garden. Once there they will need to use a paliquin to transport a maiden one-third of a mile. They will deliver her to a tea ceremony to get their next clue. In Messenger teams must travel 200 yards on foot to a parking lot where they will pick up a pair of folding bikes and messenger bags each containing a parcel. They will then need to assemble the bike and ride thru traffic to deliver their parcels to two separate buildings. When they are done they must return to the bike shop to get their next clue. The frat boys decide to carry the maiden so they head off to find a taxi.
