Who will be eliminated on this episode of Treasure Hunters? Will the only female left on team Air Force be able to survive? Will the Geniuses continue to solve the clues at a rapid pace? Who will win it all?
The 4 remaining teams are all gathered at the airport, in NYC, ready to find the final artifact. They all share a limo. At the Waldolf Astoria Hotel, the teams think they are standing in major luxury. They are welcomed into a large mega-suite complete with a captain and a butler. They all share a toast to the final four. One team member of EX CIA gets a little toasted. The other teams look on in disgust.
At 9:00 the next morning, the teams get their clue, and the adventure begins. The Southie Boys rush to get a cab and are first! Unfortunately the other teams are not riding in cabs; they are riding in the cars that are provided. The Southie Boys arrive first at a statue of Susan B Anthony, no obvious clues are there, EX CIA arrives and soon all of the teams are there. They are crowded around the statue. Finally the teams find the keys in a box, and race to find Gould Library; they begin looking at the paintings on the walls of the Library. One painting reveals Today on it, and it points to a sculpture, being the only one in the rooms, team Genius turns off the light, and a ship is reflected in the silhouette, they figure out this matches the painting, and immediately turn the lights back on as other teams arrive, the go to another room and figure out the clue and off they go. Team Geniuses feel they have the advantage as the first team to discover the clue. Soon the other teams figure out the clue, but team Genius has a huge lead.
Team Genius arrives at the Land Building in PA; only one team member can enter the building at one time. Meanwhile the Southie boys are lost and begin to verbally spar with one another about being lost. Team Genius member gets to the 22nd floor and uses his Visa card to open the door. He must now climb outside on a ledge to read a clue that is on a plaque outside on the 22nd floor. He proceeds out there as his team members look up from on street. Team Ex CIA arrives and when the team member reaches the 22nd floor, he does not have his Visa card, rather than going down stairs to get the card, he just stands there looking foolish. A narrow rope holds team Genius team member in place as he is on the ledge.
All teams have arrived at this point; they begin working together, since Team Ex CIA is now in the room, he has to wait until last to go, since he did not have his Visa card. In addition the team member of Ex CIA is afraid of heights. Team Genius has reached the plaque first. Ex CIA is last and must wait, and the longer he waits, he soon began to realize that he has a fear of heights. Team Genius is finished and Team Ex CIA just watches them drive off. Team Air Force is on the ledge, and they have no problems, they quickly head off. Southie Boys are on the ledge, then finally Ex CIA is on the ledge, he is scared and his legs are shaking.
Team Air Force finds Girard College first, meanwhile Team Genius with the aid of their team member are lost. They failed to look for any directions, since the one-team member knew exactly where to go, turns out he did not. Back at the ledge, team Ex CIA is still on the ledge, it is slow go, since he is so afraid.
Team Air Force is now in first place. They arrive at Founders Hall at Girard College; they must find the artifact or be eliminated. Air Force rush downstairs. Team Southie Boys are quickly on the tail of team Air Force, but they begin a verbal spat, and the non-brother team member has to pull the twins apart, as they are about to fight. They separate, and get madder, as the one guy plays referee.
Ex CIA is finally off the ledge, and in route. Team Genius finds the Founders Hall on Girard College, by pure luck. Meanwhile the Southie Boys get there acts together when they see Team EX CIA pull up; they realize that they are in a game, and not a fighting match. Team Genius is the last team to arrive inside. Team Air Force is carrying around a ship, but has no clue what the word that will answer the cryptex. Genius runs in, just as team Air Force discovers that the answer to the cryptex is Liberty. They are the first team to find it. Southie Boys are trying a variety of words, they are the 2nd team to get the artifact, and they discover it by a lucky guess. It is now down to Teams Genius and Ex CIA.
Team Genius finds a large self portrait, and moves the painting to reveal a secret room, there are lots of ships in there in glass cases, team Genius overlooks it, and begins looking at the shelves of books. Meanwhile team Ex CIA walks right by the painting, but stops close by and starts putting in random words into the cryptex, and seemingly at the same time, team Genius yells out Liberty, and through the power of editing, it appears that each team is opening the cryptex at the same time, but it is Team Genius that will continue as Ex CIA goes home. Kind of makes you wonder, if the excessive drinking of one team member hindered their process for the day.
Next week, the finale is live!
