Just like Jordin Sparks last season, David Cook started out in the shadows of a certain other frontrunner, but quietly built a solid reputation with one great performance after another. He has arguably been the strongest contestant this season, showing amazing versatility and musical know-how, being a clear, singular presence throughout. However, David Archuleta has been grabbing attention all along with his boyish charm, teen appeal, and smooth balladeering. Can the Cook fans help their boy come out on top? He has performed solidly all season and has a talent beyond his 17 years. However, David Cook has been gaining momentum and slowly inching past him these past weeks.
