This week, our final two contestants, David Archuleta and David Cook, faced off in the last battle of the season. Here's who sang what:

After two hours of performances and guest appearances, it was time to announce who the winner of Season Seven would be. In the end, winning by a margin of 12 million votes was seasoned rocker David Cook. Congratulations, David Cook!

Winner of American Idol 2008
With his clear style, strong stage presence, and evolving musical performances, David Cook sailed through the competition and won season seven of American Idol. He joins the ranks of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, and Jordin Sparks by winning without ever appearing in the bottom group on any of the results nights. On a personal note, I have been rooting for David all season and I am glad he win, though David Archuleta really gave him a run for his money!
