This week's American Idol saw the Top 11 performing songs by The Beatles. Here's who sang what:
Amanda Overmyer- "Back In The U.S.S.R."
Kristy Lee Cook- "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away"
David Archuleta- "The Long And Winding Road"
Michael Johns- "A Day In The Life"
Brooke White- "Here Comes The Sun"
David Cook- "Daytripper"
Carly Smithson- "Blackbird"
Jason Castro- "Michelle"
Syesha Mercado- "Yesterday"
Chikezie Eze- "I've Just Seen A Face"
Ramiele Malubay- "I Should've Known Better"
On results night, Carly, Kristy, and Amanda were called down as the bottom three. Carly was sent back to safety leaving Kristy and Amanda as the bottom two. In the end, Amanda Overmyer was sent home. 10 are left. Who will be voted out next week?

David Archuleta
Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 3
David has the looks, the personality, the marketability, and gave a masterful performance this week making up for his dud of a performance from last week. David A. vaults back into first place.

David Cook
Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 5
David's performance this week seems to have split people. Some like it, some didn't. Personally, I liked it and I think David is doing a fantastic job so far. His personality, style, and building momentum keep him in second place.

Jason Castro
Current Ranking: 3 - Previous Ranking: 5
Jason is a very popular guy with charm and good looks to help him out. His performances are heartfelt and cute, but he's not the most present/aggressive competitor. I want to see him step outside of himself at least once and I feel secure that he'll have a few opportunities to do so.

Carly Smithson
Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 1
I'm not entirely sure why Carly was in the bottom three. Maybe her fans assumed she was safe? Maybe people agreed with Simon and didn't like her song choice? Maybe she just wasn't as good as I thought? Maybe Kelly Clarkson's fans didn't like last week's comparison? I can't put my finger on it so I'm not moving her down very far, but she'll have to be more careful about what she does.

Chikezie Eze
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 8
I feel like Chikezie is that kid in school who is desperately trying to fit in. He picked up and played a harmonica, even though he didn't know how, because everyone else was playing instruments on the show. He received so much praise for his twangy, country-rock reinterpretation of "She's A Woman" so he did it again with "I've Just Seen A Face." I'm moving him up because he's given two great performances and has avoided the bottom three, but if he keeps doing the same thing, he'll risk becoming a novelty act.

Syesha Mercado
Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 10
Syesha sang "Yesterday" and sounded great. I'm still not a big fan, but obviously a lot of others are as she bounced right out of the bottom three. She's a popular, likable girl, but I hope she takes more chances because I don't think it will do her any favors to follow the Tamyra/Trenyce/Vonzell path.

Brooke White
Current Ranking: 7 - Previous Ranking: 4
Brooke tried something a little different this week and fell flat, even if she did avoid the bottom three. This leaves in her in an interesting position. When she does what she's comfortable with, she's terrific, but I'm not sure if she knows how to step outside of her box and make that work as well. If she keeps performing in her same vein, she'll just have to hope people like her style enough to keep her around, but if she steps out of that, she could risk a bad performance and being sent home. Can Brooke get it together?
