This week on American Idol, the contestants sang songs from the years they were born. Here's who sang what:

Ramiele Malubay- "Alone"
Jason Castro- "Fragile"
Syesha Mercado- "If I Were Your Woman"
Chikezie Eze- "If Only For One Night"
Brooke White- "Every Breath You Take"
Michael Johns- "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions"
Carly Smithson- "Total Eclipse Of The Heart"
David Archuleta- "You're The Voice"
Kristy Lee Cook- "God Bless The U.S.A."
David Cook- "Billie Jean"

On results night, the bottom three consisted of Chikezie, Jason, and Syesha. Jason was sent back to safety, leaving Chikezie and Syesha as the bottom two. In the end, Chikezie Eze was eliminated. Rankings;

David Cook

Current Ranking: 1 - Previous Ranking: 2

It seems like the Davids are running the show right now. At a time when everyone thinks Archuleta is going to win, Mr. Cook is kicking open the door to an upset victory. He continues to perform with a singular, strong style, reworking old songs and turning in amazing performances with the greatest of ease. I still say he's the total package and I am definitely rooting for him.
David Archuleta

Current Ranking: 2 - Previous Ranking: 1

David performed a song no one had heard of and I liked it, though looking around the internet, I seem to be the only one. David's in no danger at this point, but trying something different wouldn't hurt because I've read that people are getting tired of all these "message songs."
Michael Johns

Current Ranking: 3- Previous Ranking: 9

Michael really needed to do something to re-energize his campaign and he did it. He performed a Queen tune again and attacked it with such gusto and energy that even I was cheering. It wasn't just that his vocals were stellar, he moved around the stage and commanded the room. These are the performances that are going to help you win Michael!
Brooke White

Current Ranking: 4 - Previous Ranking: 7

I think Brooke is one of the more unique contestants this season. I'd imagine people respond well to her spirit and on a show that's known for loud, bombastic performances, she brings a quiet vulnerability. It's refreshing, actually. She has done fairly well so far and has yet to grace the bottom three, so I'm moving her up.
Ramiele Malubay

Current Ranking: 5 - Previous Ranking: 8

Ramiele's voting bloc must be bigger and more active than I thought because I thought she would be in the bottom three at least. I've moved Ramiele up because she's one of five contestants who have yet to grace the bottom three, but she needs to regroup and focus on bringing back the magic she brought in the Top 24 round.
Carly Smithson

Current Ranking: 6 - Previous Ranking: 5

Carly's fans kept her out of the bottom three, but I'm not sure about Carly right now. Her performance of "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" left me non-plussed even though I wanted to like it. I feel like she pushes so hard in every performance and belts out every song. Maybe she should take Simon's advice and lighten up a little.
