America's Next Top Model 13: Beautiful Is Just Not Enough
Commentary and Recap by RTVC Staff Writer Jacob D.
October 22, 2009

Nicole continues to
dominate the rankings.
Previously on America's Next Top Model, the girls raced around in teams for a go-see challenge. Brittany's competitive nature came to the fore and Rae's cautious nature caused her and Sundai to be disqualified in the end for tardiness.

Nicole won the challenge, much to some girls' consternation. For the photo shoot, the girls took to the highwires for a martial arts themed shoot.

At judging panel, Nicole got First Call Out while Kara and Sundai were left as the bottom two. Though Sundai wasn't showing enough versatility, Kara was eliminated because she was just fading away from week to week. Seven girls remain; who will be eliminated this week?

We begin on a new day at the house and Rae gets a letter. She tells us that being away from her daughter is a very difficult thing. As some girls practice their walks, Erin is the next to comment on the favorite target of the house, Nicole. She tells us that Nicole is socially inept and she knows that she herself has a personality to which girls can relate. Is it okay for me to laugh now? Can I laugh? Ok, I'm going to laugh. Ha ha! Right, the judges have been picking on her for what for the last few weeks? Lack of personality. Later, Nicole proposes a hair-tossing competition, which Erin wins. Rae decides not to jump on the bandwagon and actually praises Nicole, saying she's coming out of her shell and she digs her unique persona.

Tyra Mail: "You think you know this competition inside and out? We'll see. -Love, Tyra"

Usually we sit and watch the girls try to guess what's going to happen, but now I'm going to take a chance. Ummm, their next photo shoot will involve x-rays! No wait, it's not time for that just yet. Let's see, they're going to get colonics because models need to be clean! Too gross? Ah, whatever. Laura admits to her dyslexia and says she has been called stupid her whole life. Awww! I like you, Laura! I don't think you're stupid.

The girls head out to a studio and walk in on Lara Spencer, from entertainment news show 'The Insider,' and comedian Ant in the middle of a mock interview. There's a staged bit where Lara confuses Ant for Mario Cantone, which is hilarious because Mario is so much better than Ant. Lara tells the girls that they will receive lessons on how to be a correspondent while Ant tells them that a multi-talented model is a more marketable model. The girls will each take turns acting as interviewor to Ant's interviewee, with him playing the fictional part of an actor, or 'actress' as Lara says, from a movie called, "Attack of the Five-Foot Model." They will be tested on how quickly they think on their feet.

Rae is first and she is quickly thrown.....
