America's Next Top Model 9: Sorrow and Regret
Week 8 Update by Jacob D.
November 15, 2007
Previously on America's Next Top Model:
Bianca went green when she expressed her jealousy over Heather's stellar performance. Tyra appeared at a dance studio to give the girls lessons on moving for a music video. Speaking of music videos, the girls took part in the filming of Enrique Iglesias' "Tired Of Being Sorry" video. Lisa and Heather were called on for feature parts and the busy shoot took a toll on Heather. At judging panel, though Chantal's part in the video was deemed "a waste of film," Sarah was eliminated when she seemed unsure of herself and confused about her place in the modeling world. Seven girls remain. Who will be eliminated tonight?
Episode 9: "Sorrow and Regret"
Home Life Part Seven:
After eliminations, Lisa practices posing in a mirror. She knows that being called first puts pressure on her to perform well. Bianca asks Heather if she has any predictions on who will be in the top five, but Heather waves away the question. Heather says every elimination is hard, but she felt especially bummed out when Sarah was sent home at the last judging panel. Bianca says there will be situations Heather will be thrown into that she can't handle. We'll see.
Challenge- A Muse By Any Other Name Part One:
The girls all travel to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in L.A. There, they meet Benny Ninja again plus Neal Hamil, the director of Elite Model Management. Look alive girls! The big cheese is here. Neal starts by telling the girls they must learn how to be inspiring. He then administers the challenge, saying they will each be paired up with a student designer and they must inspire that designer to create a look for them. They will be judged the next day.
There's more though. There's always more on reality shows. Benny tells them that the student designers will be creating the outfits from a pre-existing dress. He undoes a garment bag and pulls out this pale blue matronly thing. Yikes. The girls are then taken to meet their partners. Their early consultations are as follows:
Saleisha & Erin Helgersun- oddly, there's really no footage shown of Saleisha and Erin's consultation.
Bianca & Yuko Pena- Yuko sees a Cleopatra inspired design for Bianca, but Bianca doesn't like it. Bianca also can't understand Yuko's accent, confusing "Mediterranean Sea" for "New York City." They make a compromise later with a ballerina dress.
Lisa & Angelo Estrada- Lisa reminds us that the girls have to inspire the designers by telling them about themselves, but Lisa's mind goes blank. Angelo sees Lisa as an elegant party girl who knocks everyone dead when she walks in the room.
Chantal & Richard Chan- Richard starts by asking Chantal to strike a pose the represents herself and Richard sees attitude in the pose.
Jenah & Angela Avanesyan- Angela suggests a ballerina dress and Jenah requests a "rocker edge"
Heather & Justin Green- Heather is made more nervous than she already is by Justin being nervous. He doesn't seem nervous to me, but he is cute. Heather describes some spacey stuff and Justin is a bit confused.
Ambreal & Julia Chumak- Julia seems to take a shine to Ambreal. When Ambreal describes herself as goofy, Julia tells us emphatically that this will work.
Home Life Part Eight:
