Age Of Love: It's Those Freakin' Dimples!
Episode 5 Recap by Donna Emery
July 18, 2007
This week on Age of Love, Mark did some of his favorite things with the remaining ladies, and we began to see more of his humorous side.
The show began with Mark saying that he is attracted to all six of the ladies and doesn't want to hurt anyone. There were lots of tensions between the two groups, which have somehow evolved into enemy camps.
Host Mark visited Mark and encouraged him to spend the week doing his favorite things with the girls. He then proceeded to tell Mark what his favorite things are. The first date would be with three of the girls, and would involve surfing.
He chose Maria, Megan and Mary. He told them to bring their bathing suits. They all seemed happy about this.
Amanda wasn't happy at all, since she wasn't going to go on this date. She said she has stronger feelings for Mark than anyone, and was disappointed that she wasn't going to go on the date.
When Mark pulled up in a wood-sided car he promptly greeted them by saying "Here's my Woody!" The younger gals thought this was hilarious. They also thought it was hilarious all the other times he said "woody." Maria just rolled her eyes at this attempt at humor. Mary said that she was especially excited to be on the date, since she was "usually stuck at home" during the dates.
When the group arrived at the beach, Mark told them that they were going to surf. The girls were excited and ready to surf, even though the younger girls didn't know how. Megan said that learning to surf was fun, though she and the others capsized several times. Megan even got a lump on her head, but bravely decided to continue. Mark was impressed. Maria loved being in the water, and showed off a very skilled form.
Back at the suite, pouty Amanda said she'd volunteered to clean. She finished, and then read a book and had a cup of tea. She said she wanted to keep busy so she wouldn't get so upset because of not being on the date. She was also upset that Jayanna and Jen were whispering and laughing in the other room. Jen asked Jayanna if she thought that Amanda was a threat to her. Jayanna said no. Jen agreed; saying that she thought that Megan was more of a threat. Jen said she is worried about Amanda, since "she's already in love with him." She laughed when she told Jayanna that she hadn't revealed to Amanda that she and Mark had "French kissed." Jayanna said that she had French kissed Mark, too.
At the beach, Mark shared a picnic lunch with his date mates. Mary said that she was beginning to see Mark's sense of humor. It seemed to consist of jokes about getting sand in their crotches. After lunch, they flew a beautiful kite on the beach. Then, Mark asked Megan to talk to him for a few minutes. She thanked him for taking her to the beach, because she had really wanted to see it. He said that was the reason why he'd chosen her to go on the date. She thanked him for remembering.
Mary was back on the sand with Maria, and she said that she trusted Maria. She said that Maria "feels like home." She got upset in her typically Mary way: "I don't think I am trying hard enough!" Maria reassured her, but Mary was still Mary.
Mark said that the conversation with Megan was very relaxed. "She's 21, and she's beautiful and nice," he concluded. Mary began to get jealous of the time he was spending with Megan, and decided to get up and pursue him.
Maria disagreed. "We all knew we'd be dating a man at the same time as other women. I am not going to chase a man."
But Mary did. Or… she tried to. She tried to cut in on their conversation, but Mark remained focused on Megan. "I'm not sure that he notices me," she moaned. "There's no forward reconazation." If you say so, Mary.
Mark was puzzled by Mary's pursuit. He said he doesn't understand women.
Maria was also getting a bit upset.....
