Age Of Love: It's Those Freakin' Dimples!
Episode 5 Recap by Donna Emery
July 18, 2007
Maria was also getting a bit upset at Mark's singular attention on Megan. She said that Mark kept his attention on Megan despite a chance to get to know Maria better. Meanwhile, Megan danced by standing on Mark's feet. She said she'd done that with her dad. Maria wasn't charmed by the sight. She said she hadn't come to the show to find a man who'd be attracted by a girl Megan's age.
When the ladies returned to the suite, they regaled the ones who'd stayed home with a tale of their date. Megan said they'd taken a walk on the water. She said she was getting a crush on Mark. Amanda said that this wasn't easy for her to hear.
It was even less easy for Amanda to be invited on a date which she'd have to share with Jayanna. Of all the other ladies, Amanda trusted Jayanna the least. "I keep my distance from her because she is so aggressive," she explained.
Jayanna was blasé. She said that Amanda sees her as a threat, but she doesn't see Amanda as a threat.
When they arrived at Mark's apartment, he'd set it up in a Moroccan theme for a movie night. When they sat down, he asked Jayanna if she'd like to begin by having a private drink with him. Amanda was unhappy about being left behind.
Mark asked Jayanna about her past relationships. She said that with her ex-husband, there'd been times that they hadn't connected. She said she'd learned that if you want a relationship you have to work on it. Mark talked about a failed relationship in his past. He said that he'd tried to change for her, but it had been the wrong thing to do. Jayanna said that she wants "someone stable."
Jayanna said that she and Mark "laugh, hang out and have fun…I can't see him not choosing me." When she returned to the movie room, she could see that Amanda was upset at having been left behind, but concluded: "I'm not here for Amanda."
When the trio watched movies, they snuggled under blankets so that neither of the ladies could see what Mark might be doing with the other lady. As a result, both were convinced that he had eyes only for them. Amanda said that she didn't have to fight for his attention. She exulted in holding hands with him under the blanket. Jayanna said that Mark's body language was directed toward her.
After the movie, Mark walked Jayanna to the limo. Jayanna teasingly told Amanda that it would then be her chance for "special time" with Mark. Jayanna was dismissive of Amanda's feelings. "She idolizes him, but I'm OK."
Amanda snuggled with Mark and promised that she'd cook him healthy meals. Mark responded with an enigmatic: "everything is possible!" Amanda cooed that she is falling for Mark, as they shared a kiss. Mark seems charmed: "I smile when I see her."
But he conceded that his affections remain divided, because "if Jayanna had been the one who remained behind at the end of the night, she would surely have been in my arms."
The next morning, Jen was a bit annoyed. All of the other women had been on dates except her. But Mark was ready to remedy that problem, as he came into the suite in his motorcycle outfit. Megan was enthralled by it. But the motorcycle was for a date with Jen. He gave her a jacket and told her to get ready.
Megan pouted. "I guess we have to share Mark." Mary cried, but said she was happy.
Jen dressed for her date with a very attractive halter top under her jacket. She looked great, and the other older women cheered her on. Maria said that Jen was about to get windblown. When Jen left, Jayanna asked Maria if the younger gals had said goodbye to Jen. Maria said no. Jayanna said that the younger gals are jealous.
As she got on the Harley, Jen challenged Mark to "show me what you've got!" He drove them up to the top of Mulholland Drive. It has a lovely view. She asked Mark if he missed his home, and he said he did. Mark said, of Jen: "she's elegant and classy, but she knows how to have fun."
Back at the suite, Mary pouted and suggested that they go to sleep "so the date will be over sooner." Megan continued to grouse about not being invited to go on the motorcycle. "Motorcycles rule!" she said. She noted that Jen is 18 years older than Mark; "old enough to be his Mom!"
He wasn't treating her like a mom. As she sat on his lap.....
