Age Of Love: When His Moon Hit Their Eyes: Amore!
Episode 6 Recap by Donna Emery
July 25, 2007
This week on Age of Love, Mark was stuck with five unhappy campers. He did his best to show each of them a good time, while Jayanna did her best to convince each of them that his efforts to treat all of them the same meant that none of them were special to him.
It backfired, big time.
This week, we got to see more of Jayanna's strategy for winning Mark's affection. She was convinced that his obvious regard for her meant that he didn't have the same feelings for any of the other ladies. She also had quite a bit to say about most of the other remaining ladies.
She began with Maria. Maria had told the gals twice that she would leave the show. Twice, however, she'd been talked into staying by Mark. Maria was cooking in the suite's kitchen and chiding herself for being a "sucker."
She said that Mark is a "genuine, sweet guy."
Jayanna said she wanted to call Maria out. "Do you think he will 'show up' for you?" She reminded Maria that she'd seemed sure, twice, that Mark isn't really the right guy for her.
Maria responded "a man will show himself for the sake of love."
Jayanna said she hopes that Maria is gone soon, because she made her blood boil. It didn't seem like Maria was the only one to cause that reaction in Jayanna.
Amanda was thinking about Jayanna, too. She was also thinking that with Jen and Maria, the younger girls were now outnumbered. She was suspicious of Jayanna.
She said that Jayanna had a devious motive behind her words.
Jayanna wanted to set the record straight. She declared: "nobody takes my guy!" She told Amanda and the others: "just because Mark tells you sweet things doesn't mean you are special. He says these things to everyone." She directed these remarks especially to Amanda, because Amanda had said more than once that she felt a deep connection with Mark.
Amanda was stubborn and responded, "I'll decide who I want."
Jayanna was sure that no one in their twenties will wind up with Mark.
Host Mark stopped by the suite to explain the dating schedule for the week. He told them that they'd been pampered up until then, but this would change because they were going camping. The ladies seemed excited, until Host Mark predicted that the trip would "separate the women from the girls." He also told them that one of them would not return to the suite, after the camping trip.
He didn't mean that Friday the 13th's "Jason" was going to get them with his chainsaw. He meant that Mark would eliminate one of them.
This was the cue for Amanda to begin to fret. Since Mary went home last week, Amanda seems determined to inherit her place as most insecure contestant. She said that the thought of a possible elimination after the camping trip was scary. But she also saw the potential for Mark to see the negative side of the older gals' personalities. She hoped that Mark might end up disgusted with the words that Jen and Jayanna could say.
Maria was pumped: camping is one of her favorite things. She also thought that camping with Mark would be romantic, and that he would make it even more special.
Megan said she had absolutely no camping experience, yet seemed happy to go along.
Jayanna said that camping meant that the odds were in her favor. She was convinced that she could use it to "blow him away." She said camping was her kind of thing.
Mark had things to say about all of the girls. He called Megan as "funny and bubbly." He said that he liked everything Jayanna had done so far. He said that he loves who Amanda is, and that Maria is "passionate. She is who she is." As for Jen: "everything is great with Jen."
When the gang arrived.....
