The Bachelor: Melissa Tells Jason "You Are Such A Bastard!"
Recap by RTVC Senior Staff Writer Jenny Lane
March 3, 2009
Moments ago, we saw Jason profess his love for two women, send one home, and propose to the other. Molly was the one he sent home, and Melissa was the one he proposed to, just like the rumors had predicted. Now, it’s time to find out if the rest of the rumors are true with the ATFR show.

We begin with Chris telling us that six weeks have passed since Jason chose Melissa over Molly, and “a lot has happened since then, and tonight we’ll find out all the details.” He tells us that normally, we would talk to the happy couple, but tonight it’s going to be a little different. We see that the studio is empty, and Chris delivers the lines that we have already heard so many times, “what you are about to witness is so dramatic, so emotionally difficult, we decided that out of respect to the parties involved, to keep the taping of tonight’s show as intimate as possible.”

Before we get to all that, we’re going to talk to Jason alone. Jason enters the studio, looking serious. He says “it’s been a crazy time,” and looks like he’s going to cry (again). Jason says Melissa is incredible, sweet, beautiful, and starts to cry. He says “since this all ended, things have been different, and we’re not right for each other.” Jason says that the two of them have spent a lot of time together, and “as easy and beautiful and wonderful as we all saw, since then the chemistry has been completely different.” Jason talks about how he looked inside himself to try to figure out what happened to the love and passion.

Chris asks Jason what Melissa knows. Jason doesn’t really answer, but just says “we talk when we need to talk, she knows things feel completely different.”

Jason says that over the last few weeks, he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about Molly. He says he has tried, “for Melissa’s sake, I’m doing all I can to make this work with Melissa, but I can’t control how I’m feeling.” Hmm, I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Chris stares at Jason as he talks, maybe because he knows what the real truth is. Jason says that the decision to pick Melissa was right when he made it, but the second Molly left, a piece of him was gone. So maybe he shouldn’t have proposed to Melissa? He says that piece made him a better person, and made him alive.

Chris asks Jason if he’s still in love with Molly, and Jason nods. Jason claims that he hasn’t talked to Molly since the final rose ceremony, because he “had to give Melissa a chance.” (Of course the rumors are that this is far from the truth.) Chris tells Jason that he knows he’s a good guy and hates the situation he’s in tonight.

Jason says he wants to talk to Melissa first and let her feel what she needs to feel, because “she deserves to take it all out on me.” Chris asks if Jason is going to end things with Melissa tonight, and Jason says “I have to.” Jason says he’s been thinking about what he would tell Ty to do in a situation like this. I sure hope that Ty isn’t going to repeat his dad’s history!

Chris asks Jason what he’s going to say to Molly. Jason says Molly deserves to be angry with him, but he hopes that she still has some feelings for him. He says he is going to tell her how he’s feeling and ask for a shot.

Jason says he expects Melissa to be upset and angry. He says they have talked a lot, and she knows where his heart and head are at. Chris reminds us that Melissa hasn’t heard any of what has been said, and then she comes out.

Melissa enters, and has a look in her eyes.....
