The Bachelor: Will It Be Melissa Or Molly?

Last week on The Bachelor, Jason went on hometown dates with each of the remaining four girls. Jillian opened up to Jason about her some family issues that she has had to deal with. Jason got along well with both Jillian’s and Molly’s families, and had a great time on both dates.
Naomi’s and Melissa’s dates did not go as smoothly. Naomi’s mom made Jason give the eulogy at a funeral for a dove, and talked to him about how much she believes in psychic abilities and reincarnation. Her dad talked to Jason at length about his commitment to Jesus, and how important he felt that was for Naomi to have in her life. Melissa’s parents didn’t have a reaction, because they refused to meet Jason at all. Instead, Jason met some of Melissa’s friends, but it was obvious that he would have liked to have met her parents.
At the rose ceremony, Naomi was the one who went home. Despite the fact that Naomi declared repeatedly that she was ready to move, get married, and have a family, Jason just didn’t believe that she was ready.
This week, Jason, Molly, Jillian and Melissa headed to New Zealand. Jillian’s date was first. She and Jason went for a helicopter ride, had a picnic with a view, and an intimate dinner. After dinner, they spent the night in the “fantasy suite,” where we saw a heavy makeout session in the hot tub. Jason wanted their relationship to move to a more romantic level, and it looked like he got his wish.
Molly and Jason went bungee jumping, had a casual lunch, and another intimate dinner. Molly opened up to Jason, and admitted that she is falling in love with him. They too spent the night together, and Jason seemed reassured by everything Molly said to him.
Melissa and Jason went on a boat ride, followed by a soak in a hot tub, and a romantic dinner in the city. They talked quite a bit about not meeting her family. While it did seem to still bother Jason, he decided to focus on Melissa rather than her parents for now. Melissa tells Jason that she is in love with him, and she’s the first girl to do that. The others admitted that they were falling for him, but Melissa put it all on the table. Melissa’s words seemed to help Jason forget about the problems with her parents, and they headed off to spend the night together.
Before the rose ceremony, Jason watched video messages that the girls made for him. They all thanked him for being him, and told him how wonderful he is. Melissa professed her love for Jason again, and this time Molly corrects what she said earlier, and says that she is in fact in love with him.
At the rose ceremony, Jason kept Melissa and Molly, and sent Jillian packing. He told her that he didn’t think he could keep up with her adventurous side, and that he also needed more than the best friends that she wanted them to be. Jillian told him that he misjudged things, and that she was only adventurous because she hadn’t found the right person yet. As she drove away, Jillian declared that the other girls don’t have anything on her, and she was the right person for Jason.
Melissa
Current Ranking: 1         Previous Ranking: 1
Melissa has been my number one pick forever, and she still is. The more I see them together, the more I think she’s the one. Of course, the wrinkle in the fairy tale could be if DeAnna does in fact swoop in and steal Jason away. Aside from that happening, I think Melissa will soon be sporting a big rock on her ring finger.
Molly
Current Ranking: 2         Previous Ranking: 2
I think Jason is entranced with Molly, but I don’t think he’s in love with her like he is with Melissa. I don’t know quite how to describe it, but I just don’t see the same look in his eyes with her. He also mentioned how he noticed that Molly’s parents and sister were so unaffectionate, and it seemed to bother him. Jason may think Molly is hot (oddly enough), but he’s not head over heels for her.
Jillian
Eliminated
I knew all along, that of the three girls, Jason had the least connection with Jillian. I did find it interesting that he was fine with the steamy makeout session. I guess maybe he was falling for her to some degree, or maybe he just got caught up in the moment. I never pictured the two of them together, and think he kept her because she was the best of the rest. It’s too bad that she felt so jilted, but when she watches the show, I think she’ll see how different he is with the other two girls.
Naomi
Eliminated
Obviously, we don’t see everything that happens between Jason and the girls. Despite the fact that Naomi repeatedly told Jason that she was ready for his life, he just didn’t buy it, and there has to be a reason for that. He told us that he believes that Naomi believes she’s ready, but he just doesn’t think she is. Maybe that’s true, I’m not sure. Maybe she was just looking for stability, since her life seems less than stable. I never really thought that she would end up with the ring on her finger anyway, so I’m not surprised at all that she was the one who went home this week.
Stephanie Eliminated
It’s clear that Jason had a lot of respect and admiration for Stephanie, and so did all of the girls in the house. Unfortunately, he just didn’t see her romantically, no matter how hard he tried. She knew it, and took the rejection with complete grace. I have to admit that I wasn’t very fond of her in the beginning, but now I must say that she impressed me as being a very warm, loving person. Hopefully, this has been a good experience for her.
Lauren Eliminated
This week, the reasons that the four were sent home are pretty self-explanatory. Lauren was just plain crazy, and it stopped being adorable a long time ago. The more she browbeat Jason, the less enamored he was of her. She should have read the signals, but she wasn’t smart enough to do that. It was clear that he not only didn’t have a connection with her, he was really starting to dislike her. I would love to hear her thoughts after she sees herself on camera, because she strikes me as a person who genuinely thinks that she is a likable person.
Nikki
Eliminated
Nikki just couldn’t give up control, no matter how hard she tried. I think Jason thought Nikki was hot, but he worried that life with her would be full of lists and lacking in the fun department. On their two-on-one date, Jason seemed to be hoping that Nikki would open up more than she did. He realized that even though he did have a connection with Nikki, she wasn’t the one for him, and that’s why she went home, simple as that.
Megan
Eliminated
Megan went home because I think she came across as a bit of a cold fish. I think it bothered Jason that all the girls wanted Megan gone, and he never did quite get that out of his mind. He didn’t seek her out, she didn’t really seek him out, so instead he developed connections with other girls instead of Megan. She was overly confident, which I don’t think he finds attractive. He likes confidence, but not unrealistic overconfidence, and Megan had some of that. She also has a baby at home, and Jason didn’t bring her child in like he did for Stephanie. I think Jason liked Megan, just not enough.
Shannon
Eliminated
Shannon went home because she was a puking, crying, awkward, blubbering beggar. Jason was not into how she begged him to let her stay, and that speech is what sealed her fate. He could have kissed her, but clearly didn’t want to. I’m actually a little surprised that she stayed around as long as she did. I think Jason thought she was a nice girl, and might have even felt a little sorry for her. I don’t think it was a love connection by any definition of the words.
