The Bachelor 11: Slip-n-Fall-n-Skinny Dipping! Episode 2 Recap by Eileen Witker October 2, 2007
The previews for tonight's episode of The Bachelor11 promised it to be one of the most dramatic and sexy ever, with emotion, emotion, emotion. OK, last week I heard sexy and gorgeous so many times I didn't want to type either word ever again, so let's see what all the hype is about.
As the show begins, we are treated to a recap of last week's initial offering, along with a montage of the lovely ladies from whom Brad had to pick. The announcers remind us that Brad is there to find the woman of his dreams. Yeah, I think we knew that.
The women are settling into the villa in Malibu, and still squealing about how hot, sexy and gorgeous Brad is. Have these women all come from a nunnery? Have they never seen a sexy, handsome man before? But I digress…
Our host Chris appears and explains to the women that the group dates are coming up and there will be a rose given on each date. The date boxes will indicate who goes on which date, and, with that, Chris points out the first date box and leaves. The squealing women converge on it and open it.
Inside there are plastic horses and big, big hats. The women primp as Erin, McCarten, Kristy, Mallory, Hillary, Jade and DeAnna are to have the first date. After much primping and each one declaring that she will get the rose, the women head to the track.
Brad is waiting and once again mentions how lovely the women are. He claims he is on Cloud Nine and wants to have some detailed conversations to get to know some of the women better. He says he is sweating, and, as he pours drinks, tells the women that he is glad his not their waiter because they get him all discombobulated. Yes, that was my word, not his.
The Brad produces something to warm the heart of all women - cash. He relates to the camera that how and what a woman bets will tell him something about her character. Okay. One of them actually bet $20.00 to win on a horse, so I wonder how she did in his estimation. Hilary grabs Brad and walks down to the rail with him, inspiring some not-so-nice comments from the rest, who are not at all happy. The camera cuts to them holding hands.
Back at the villa, the women are socializing, when a scream is heard. Lindsay notes that there was a thud followed by screaming and they found Michelle on the stairs where she has fallen. The EMS arrives and takes her out on a stretcher, which makes it look pretty serious.
Back at the track, McCarten and Brad have snuck off, and, during their talk, she kisses him. It surprises Brad, who relates to the camera that the kiss just wasn't good. They return to the other women, who have been speculating about who is getting a rose, and as they speak, in walks Shaun Phillips, from the San Diego Chargers. The women do all the proper oohing and aahing over him - well, he is cute. He gives them all T-shirts, which makes Brad say that he feels bad that he doesn't have anything for them. All they want is a rose, Brad. As Shaun and Brad walk out Shaun remarks that Brad is really lucky and they are all "nice girls." Brad agrees about the luck.
Back in the VIP box, we cut to Brad receiving a phone call a phone call from Michele telling him of her injury. He is stunned momentarily and then recovers enough to wish her well. McCarten wonders how Michele got his phone number.
DeAnna and Brad get away and have a heart-to-heart talk wherein she tells him that either he likes her or he doesn't and she is just being herself. Brad agrees and excuses himself. He walks back to the box and picks up the rose, much to the consternation of the other women. He tells us that he has felt a connection with DeAnna from the beginning, and walks back to her and gives her the rose.
Back at the house, the second date box.....
