Big Brother: Everyone Thinks I’m a Body Without a Brain!
Episode 4 Commentary by Angie

Tonight’s episode didn’t leave me wanting more. I’m disappointed. I watch reality TV for the drama, as we all do! Tonight’s episode started with reviewing Jessie winning the HoH competition. I was surprised to hear some houseguests say they were shocked, upset, etc. to see the houseguests run up to Jessie and hug him. True, I’m sure some of them were sucking up. But that’s what you do in Big Brother, to the HoH, right?
I’m wondering if there is more than they are showing to the TV audience about Angie and the other girls. Are the other girls not friends of Angie’s simply because she started befriending Brian and trying to save him last week? It seemed to me that there was more to it than that. There seemed to be a lot of cattiness that only a group of girls would know how to give.
Next we come to the scene where Jessie is entering his HoH room for the first time, with everyone (minus Steven) in tow. I was literally laughing out loud at how he was trying to educate everyone about his body building experience. How he would show them a picture of himself at a body building championship and then compare it to his body now and he’d say ‘just imagine if I was 10 pounds lighter right now’. Hilarious! It seemed the houseguests were just as amused by this as I was.
I was a Dan hater in my first article. I must regress and admit I was really impressed with him tonight. He showed, and admitted, that he was trying to be open minded about Steven’s gayness. He was asking questions and being polite about it and, I thought, just seriously wanted to know more about the whole idea of it. From his profile on CBS’s website, along with his behavior in the first episodes, I thought he was closed minded to anything that he didn’t agree with. Another amusing time was when Dan was up in Jessie’s room, waiting on him, and Jessie walks in with Ollie. This blew Dan’s chance of getting a one-on-one talk with Jessie & Dan hid in the bathroom for awhile. The looks on Ollie’s and Jessie’s faces when they heard the toilet flush was awesome! Dan impressed me again when he was able to laugh about the fact that his chance was ruined and he would have to try again.
What was the deal with April tonight? During the food competition she couldn’t seem to throw a wine cork up and into the tub that her teammates were in. She kept missing by throwing too hard and it would land in the bushes on the other side! One of her teammates even told her to announce the fact she was about to throw so that they could try to catch them, or at least be looking for them. It never showed her to announce it. I guess she was concentrating too hard. I’m just not sure on what.
There was a touching conversation tonight. Jerry spoke about his wife and how she is sick and his job is to take care of his best friend. He said he had to get in shape and he promised her she would not be taken to a nursing home, as long as he was physically able to take care of her. It was really a touching moment. He even had Libra in tears – and almost myself! It’s very obvious that he and his wife are best friends and he’s going to do his best to care for her.
Finally we get to the nomination ceremony. I was really worried for Jessie at one point. It’s no secret that he has hate for Renny. Of course when he’s meeting with the people from the alliance and are chatting about who should be put up, he brings up Renny’s name. I’m glad they were able to talk him out of nominating her. She’s been laying low and I think that has helped her a lot. She’s not an immediate threat. At the end we find out that Jessie nominates Dan and Steven. As of now, Steven is the main target because Dan proved to Jessie he’s faithful and sticks to his word – because he did vote for Brian to stay – even though he knew Brian was leaving the house. We’ll have to wait and see if Dan will stick with Jessie’s side.
Angie lives in the Dallas area. She loves the person who invented TiVo and just when it seems she watches too much TV, she adds another season pass! If you’d like to talk TV with her, send an email to realitytvlover@rocketmail.com.
