Big Brother: I Want More Drama!
Episode 6 Commentary by Angie
July 24, 2008
A lot has happened since my last Big Brother commentary. I got to see Libra in a confrontation with “the two old people” Renny and Jerry. Again, I know things get cut out and we don’t see the whole story, but I was shocked when Libra immediately jumped out of bed and just started yelling at Jerry! Then at Renny! I guess that is what happens when you are on slop for two weeks! Libra did say it was rough and was not going to be pretty if she had to go a third week on it. I do hope she is able to eat normal food next time.

So there is a new alliance: Memphis, Michelle, Angie, and Jessie. At the beginning of tonight’s episode it seemed it was a secret and they were hiding this from everyone. Then it seemed ten minutes later in the show everyone not in this alliance was talking about Memphis and his alliance. I guess they weren’t doing such a great job of hiding it.

I was worried for Keesha at one point, when she was lying to Jessie about not wanting to save Steven. It’s just so crazy that in the Big Brother house so often people lie to other people’s faces, yet this is how the game is played. She told Steven she was going to talk to others about saving him. I guess she tried a little, but not much was shown on that. She told Steven if she won the PoV, she’d use it to save him as well. I imagine it is hard when you bond with a person and then hear the whole house is voting to get him out.

I think it’s always fun when Big Brother interviews friends and family members of house guests. When Jessie’s mom and dad were interviewed, I noticed they didn’t talk about how Jessie lied to everyone about Renny not apologizing to him about waking him up. It was definitely brought up by Renny’s family! I guess that is a protective thing from a mom and dad though-you want your son to do well and you aren’t going to dwell, on national TV, on what your son did wrong. Renny’s family was pretty funny and they seemed to be big fans of hers, of course.

At the eviction ceremony, I was wondering what was going on with Steven and his “save me” speech. It was very random. It seems I remember reading a blog from the live feeds and how he was ready to get out and go back home. I guess he had made peace with the fact he would be leaving and didn’t really care, by the time the eviction ceremony came around. It sure didn’t help save him since he was evicted by everyone!

I had to laugh at the goodbye message from Jessie, to Steven. How funny that the majority of it was all about Jessie, and not Steven. I guess in a way Jessie was encouraging Steven to keep up the good work with working out, but Jessie had to throw in some things about Jessie. It reminded me of when everyone saw his HoH room and he was telling them all about his pictures of him on the wall from body building competitions and then comparing the pictures to his current body.

Finally, what’s up with the green aliens? I know this happened last season (or was it the one before that?). I am trying to remember if it was aliens that people saw in the mirrors? Anyway, it’s pretty funny to watch the house guests get caught off guard by these things. I could never figure out if Renny actually saw that reflection in the mirror right away or not. She kept looking up, from washing dishes, and it seemed she did a double take a few times. She later made the comment that she’s seen everything in New Orleans and that was nothing. Maybe she did see it from the start. If not, she definitely is not a jumpy person! Steven, on the other hand, about jumped out of his skin. That was hilarious to watch him get spooked!

Now that Keesha is HoH, I’m wondering what plans she has up her sleeve for nominations. She can’t stand April, I know, but she is in an alliance with April and the other girls – minus Angie and Michelle. For my benefit, I hope to see more drama!

Angie lives in the Dallas area. She loves the person who invented TiVo and just when it seems she watches too much TV, she adds another season pass! If you’d like to talk TV with her, send an email to realitytvlover@rocketmail.com.
